At home, after a brief, strong fight with bladder cancer, with his wife at his side, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Fred Theiss, at the age of 67 years, beloved husband of Clara. Loving son of Erna and the late Otto Schulwitz. Dear brother-in-law of Anna, Sussanna, Karl and the late Glenn. Proud uncle of Alicia, Dieter, Jason and Tanya. Dear great-uncle of Sadie, Bailey, Katrina, Marcus, Jameson, Selena and baby boy due in July.
The dog sport world of agility and flyball will greatly miss Fred. Along with his wife he was instrumental in bringing agility to Ontario, hosting trials under the name of Rat Pack Dog Sports for 20 years both outdoors in Caledon East, indoors in Orangeville and even the “cold barn”. Fred was one of the founding members of “K9 Thunder Flyball Team”. He was always willing to lend a hand in order to keep the event days moving along smoothly. Being the type of person who could fix anything he would often be found helping someone with their vehicle so they could get home again. He was a man of many talents. Most importantly, Fred was always supportive, helpful and kind. His witty and often dry sense of humour will be missed by many.
When Fred had some free time he enjoyed flying remote planes and driving remote cars.
The family will receive friends and family at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday afternoon, March 7th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
