I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Alf at TVO, (I was a puppeteer) and he was a great guy who knew how to live life well, kind to himself and others. An pretty fine example of what a sucessful person should be. He will be fondly remembered. Bob Dermer

Alf was a fine and honourable gentleman.
I had the pleasure and privilege of working with him both at CFTO TV and TV Ontario. He is unforgettable to me an I have very fond memories of working with him from the “Unle Bobby” days to many show at TV Ontario. I cannot articulate all my feelings about Alf, except that I shall always have fond memories of the time I spent with him.
Rest in peace Alf.

Alf was one of the finest chaps with whom I had ever worked, He was a great asset on any crew, had a great work ethic, demanded high standards from his crew and himself, had a wicked sense of humour yet always had a smile. I will treasure those times when he was a member of my production team.
Godspeed old friend.

Friends and colleagues of Alf may like to know that Alf was laid to rest in his family’s grave in Edinburgh this morning. Having travelled the world, he returned to within a mile of his childhood home for his final rest. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
