Mr. Spricenieks and I both loved our cars… mine was a ‘62 Ford Comet and his …. well, was not. He certainly had a unique approach to education and we looked forward to going to class. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Al and I became close friends in my first few years of teaching at Woodbridge High, although he was 16 years my senior. We ran the chess club at the school for five years and spent a lot of time out of school, double dating and his coming to my cottage one summer. He was like a big brother to me during those years and I valued his friendship highly. I hadn’t seen him in many years now, but I often think of him and the bond we had way back when. He will be missed.
