Died on Monday, April 20, 2009, in Maple, Ontario, aged 80 years. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 29, 1928. A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art with a Highly Commended Degree in Commercial Art in 1948. Left Scotland at age 26 in 1954 to begin a new life in Canada where she successfully pursued a career in commercial and graphic art in Toronto. Married her late husband, Stanley Francis Wcislo, Q.C., on July 19, 1961, moving to the village of Kleinburg, where they lived happily for more than 40 years. Survived by her daughter Marie-Louise Wcislo, son-in-law Manfred Kalthoff, granddaughter Monique Kalthoff, sister Isabel Stevenson, brother-in-law Alan Stevenson (Crieff, Scotland). Will be missed by family and friends in Canada and Scotland. My mother was a true artist; she loved life, colour, design, nature, beauty and light. She brought happiness, joy, peace, harmony, grace, fun, pleasure, warmth, security and love to all around her. Her life and her art made the world a better place – not through great acheivement nor noble works – but through her lifelong gifts to others of goodness, beauty, generosity of spirit and boundless love. A memorial service will be held at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Tuesday morning, April 28 at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow.
