Ann Mary (Anna Mae) Fairweather, at the age of 98 years, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 with her family by her side.
Born in Sydney, Cape Breton on January 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (MacIsaac) Campbell.
Anna Mae was a member of St. John’s Parish for 13 years and a 30-year member of Holy Martyrs of Japan Church in Bradford.
Anna Mae moved to Toronto in her twenties where she met and married Albert Lewis (Bud) (predeceased 1988) in June of 1950. Together they raised eight children: Michael, Bill (Barb), Cyril (Debbie), Mary Elizabeth (predeceased), Catherine Robson, Betty Diduck (Jim), John (Joanne), and Stephen.
Anna Mae was predeceased by sisters Mary MacIntyre, Annie MacKenzie, Margaret MacDonald, Catherine Ferguson and brothers Archie, Danny, John (Husky), Joe, Leo, and Donald.
Although Anna Mae left Sydney many, many years ago, the effects of Alzheimers brought her back to her childhood and the last years were spent with wonderful memories of her youth.
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Maurice, Campbell; her nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday evening from 6 to 9 o’clock. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning, October 16 at 11 o’clock in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon with Reverend Robert Glynn officiating.
