Anne Marie Peelar, in her 81st year, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 after her courageous battle with cancer. She had a wonderful childhood in Main-A-Dieu, Nova Scotia, and later moved to Ontario, where she met her loving husband, Lorne Peelar. They have been married for 56 years. She is predeceased by her loving parents Albert and Bertha Wadden. Devoted mother of Jason Peelar and wife Cindy, Michael Peelar and wife Nicole, Gary Wadden and wife Heather. Proud grandmother of Tyler, Michael Jr., Amy, Vera, Emily, Lorne Jr. Peelar; Lindsay and husband Greg Allen, and Ryan Wadden. The most important things in her life were her family and friends. Christmas was a very important celebration to her. Everyone loved her homemade stuffing, pink jelly, and homemade pies. Anne was known for her Christmas baking, including her famous peanut butter balls. One of her favourite pastimes was to sit and watch her grandkids swim in their pool. She also loved sitting on the front porch, watching the crops grow, the cars go by, and enjoying beautiful evenings spent with Lorne.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday morning, October 7 from 11 o’clock until time of funeral service in the chapel at one o’clock. Following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home before proceeding to Nobleton Community Cemetery for the interment. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, Newmarket. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com
