1963-2022
Barb was always at awe with the beauty of nature and had a great appreciation for birds, fish, flora, trees, oceans, rivers and mountains. She was very fond of turtles and
birds. Barb was born in Bremen, Germany and immigrated to Peterborough, Ontario, in 1965 with her parents Hans, Annalise, and her brother Chris.
Barb’s love for nature started at a young age at her family’s cottage on Four Mile Lake
which was built by her family including herself hammering nails into the roof! She loved
being outside, day or night. She was grateful for all the times she swam in a fresh water
lake, went boating, made campfires and looked at the stars and moon.
Barb was a very athletic person. She enjoyed skiing, golfing, skating, hiking; and was
always willing to try something new.
Barb and her family moved to Oshawa when she was in Grade School. When she was
a young adult, she moved to Toronto and quickly made many new friends. Barb had a
smile for everyone, was always upbeat and very approachable. She had a very
successful career as a Senior Sales Associate having worked for Robin Hood, Christie
and Univar. After she no longer wanted the fast pace of sales, she used her card
playing skills, love for games and personality to become a successful Card Dealer at
Woodbine Casino.
Barb was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Jamie and Kelly, who she loved
very much. It was her priority to share with Jamie and Kelly, her love of nature by
travelling with them to many beautiful places. She also acquired a property in Florida
where they vacationed for many years. Florida became one of Barb’s most favourite
places, admiring the sunshine, the rolling waves, birds singing, geckos, flora and palm
trees.
Barb always had the most magnificent smile and would provide an innocent grin when
she challenged the boundaries. She was a power unto herself with energy that would
not stop because of her love for life!
Barb, you will be greatly missed by your family and friends. You were well loved. In her
honour, a celebration of life was held on her birthday, September 13th 2022.

Barb was so full of life and loved life so much. She savoured everything and everyone in her life. She was such a bright light. I imagine her now running free, climbing clouds instead of trees, no doubt!
Bye Bam Bam. We’re really going to miss you.

Dear Jaimie & Kelly
I am heart broken to hear this incredibly sad news. Barb loved you both so much. She was my backyard pal and I enjoyed all of you as neighbors for many years watching you grow into beautiful young ladies. You are in my thoughts & prayers. May Barb rest in eternal peace.
With much love
Renata xoxo
