Carol Stubbs, a beloved Bolton, Ontario resident and winter enthusiast in Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her winter home in Florida. She was born in Toronto, where she began her journey through life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She met her husband Jim (deceased 2005) in Bolton, and together they embarked on the journey of raising their two sons, Ken and Chris. Throughout their lives together, Carol and Jim created a home filled with love, laughter, and quite a few poodles who became cherished members of the family.
For many years, Carol dedicated herself to a career at the Bolton post office, where she served her community with dedication and grace. Upon her retirement, she embraced new passions, splitting her time between volunteering at the Caledon Kennel Association, cultivating a vibrant garden, and indulging in the simple pleasures of socializing with her wonderful group of friends. Carol’s infectious laugh and warm-hearted nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her sons, Ken (Judy) and Chris, Carol leaves behind her grandsons Tyler and Kieran, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her memory will also be cherished by her many friends, both in Canada and Florida, whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton on Monday, April 22 from 2 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 3 o’clock. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation in Carol’s memory.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

O.K. Carol with one “l”, this certainly wasn’t supposed to happen yet! I and our group are shocked and deeply saddened. We were just getting ready to resume our dinners! It simply will not be the same without your quips, your laughter and the stories of the great deals only you could manage! To Ken and Chris, know how immensely proud of you both Carol was, and how appreciative she was of your willingness to make sure she got set up in Florida and then home again. My heart goes out to you both. Regardless of the circumstances, it is always devastating to lose a parent, but there was no warning for you. I cannot imagine! Carol will surely be missed by so many. To Ken, Chris and all the families, please accept my condolences. The world has lost one of the good ones.

I was filled with sadness to learn of Carol’s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time. Carol was a next door neighbor to me at TGO, Titusville, Fl. She was a sweet and wonderful neighbor and treated me..and my shih tzu, Bandit, very kindly. We enjoyed many happy times together playing games, telling favorite stories and having fun. She will be missed by many, may she rest in peace.

At this unspeakable time of sadness, we send you our love and prayers.
Carol was the first friend we made when we moved to Caledon from the city.
Truly a wonderful friend. When we would meet for coffee, she was always so upbeat and you would leave with a smile on your face. Her boys were her world.
Hopefully your happy memories will help sustain you through such a difficult time.

It is a great shock, no time to prepare but I don’t think that is really possible.
Grief quiets with time because love is stronger.
Hear her laughter, remember and cherish the times of your lives. Most important talk about her, talk to her.

I met Carol through the Caledon Community Singers, an amateur choir led by my late wife, Joan. Carol’s good nature, happy laughter and energetic support were assets ‘to kill for’. Her contribution to any gathering will make her very missed by many people. In particular my condolences go to her sons and family. Heaven must be getting better if she is joining: The laughter and joy will be great!

So sad to hear of Carol’s passing. I have such great memories of living in Bolton, just around the corner from Carol and her wonderful family. And of course there was our joint love of dogs and the fun and hard work we put into the Caledon Kennel Association. Many long nights working on the dog show schedule at Colleen and Gary’s and of course the shows themselves. Too many memories to list. Rest in Peace Carol.

Carol was a wonderful friend & neighbor. She had such a warm, calming presence and always made us feel like part of her family. She was always incredibly kind & generous to my siblings and my mother over the years. I’ll miss looking over and seeing her beautiful garden and hearing her dogs run around and play in the yard. I’ll miss her humour; her sharp wit and infectious laugh. She was one of a kind, loved by so many. She’ll be dearly missed. ❤️
Rest in peace, sweet Carol.
Pat Cooper
Pat and I met Carol many years ago at a dog show in Thornhill. She told us about Grace Edwards who bred toy poodles. We went to see Grace and the litter and came home with Willie.
Carol told us that she would baby sit our dogs in her home. When we went on a holiday, Pat called Carol and asked how the boys were doing. In her inimitable way, Carol said that they ran away! She had to reassure Pat that they were safe and sitting with her watching tv and eating popcorn and that Pat didn’t have to organize a search party.
Carol was a character and made people comfortable in her company. Whenever we think or possibly hear the phrase “Puppy, puppy, puppy”, we’ll think of your mom and smile.

A wonderful neighbor and friend! So looked forward to her return from Florida each year. I will miss her laughter and “over the fence” chats!

Carol has been my client and dear friend for over 34 years. Carol was so full of life! We laughed and joked all the time. We also had horses in common, she would bring me treats for my gal.
She gave me her saddle and gifts from her garage! She would spoil my mom and me with thoughtful gifts for Xmas and birthdays. She enjoyed having my sister Bonnie maintain her lovely gardens. It’s fern time!
We had special stories we shared. I feel gifted to have known such a special lady. I really miss her already
She always spoke fairly highly of her sons and grandkids.
My sincere condolences to the family
Safe journey Carol love you

So very sad to hear of Carol’s passing – she was truly a lovable character.
Carol and I first met in 1968 when we worked for North Central Airlines at Toronto International Airport (YYZ) in the air freight section. We were very fortunate to be among a group of hard working but fun loving people and Carol’s infectious laugh and jokes kept us all smiling.
(One day we were all saying “well, we’re batting a thousand” when Carol piped up and asked “is batting a thousand good?”)
As the years went on our families became friends outside of work and Carol and my wife Lynda took several trips together to Colorado and Florida. Jim and I played hockey together in Oak Ridges and
became good friends helping each other with numerous projects. In the early years the four of us would attend many shows, car races and numerous parties together and celebrate our growing families.
In 2005 we moved from the Toronto and stayed in touch but regrettably never got together again.
We would talk on the phone occasionally but that is never the same as seeing someone you love and being able to enjoy their company.
So long my dear friend, our memories of the good times we shared will be treasured in our hearts forever.
Lynda and I will miss your calls, your laugh and will smile whenever we think of you.
RIP – Carol – thanx for the memories.
