For such a small person she had a big heart. For such a short life she lived it to the fullest. She had the heart of a lion and the courage of a gladiator. She fought a fight that none of us would envy, yet she had an attitude few of us could attain. She will be missed, yet her legacy of courage will live with us all. She will walk with the Lord and Heaven will be her new home. No more pain, no more sorrow, just walking on streets paved of gold, hand in hand with her Savior. May the Lord bless her and keep her in his care untill we meet again.

Mary, John & Danaca & Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. We both know what you are feeling, and are here to talk if you need to. Kathi remembers meeting Catherine when she was supply teaching at PJP and Catherine was in tears because Kathi wasn’t her ‘real’ teacher. She warmed up eventually, and left with a smile. The same smile that was ALWAYS on her face. Catherine is certainly being comforted in the arms of God. May all of you know that comforting arms are here as well.
Kimberly
Dear Mary and family.
I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Catherine’s passing.
I have been off work for just over 2 months and was just asking last week if anyone had heard how she was coming along. I was shocked to get an email a few days later stating this news.
She was so looking forward to a new and different life.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
She is no longer suffering, she is now rejoicing with God, the angels and all that have gone before.
She will be watching over you all and one day you will all meet again.
Until then, the hurt of her loss is evident in all of us, so I pray that God will surround us all in His loving arms and comfort us in this difficult time.
R.I.P. My dear young lady.
You had so much love for your family and you and I talked so much about your nephew.
I will miss you and your Mom.
God Bless and keep you all!!!!!

Dear Mary and John and family,
I want to send my sincere sympathy at the loss of Catherine. She was such a fighter! This spirit will continue on in the nephews she loved so dearly.
Catherine was always focused and determined to do what she wanted to do. Despite the outcome I hope you find comfort in the fact you supported her decision to pursue a cure. We will all miss her in the medical day unit at Toronto General.
You will be in my thoughts.
Angela VandenHurk (Iannarelli)
Mommy Mary, Daddy John, Danaca, Peter and Family,
I will always have the best memories of Catherine. Growing up and playing on Birchview Cres., sneaking around the block to garage sales, taking Cindy, Rusty or Penny for a walk, playing at the cottage, Alison and I “helping” Katie open her presents at every childhood party, taking our first day of school photos… I am so happy that she was able to be a bridesmaid at my wedding.
Catherine was our sister, not just a best friend.
I still can not fathom a world without Katie but she is still with us in all the joyful memories we have of her.
Love you all so much.
~ For Katie
The angels looked down from heaven one night
They searched for miles afar,
And deep within the distance
They could see a shining star.
They knew that very instant
That the star was theirs to gain,
So they took you up to heaven
Forever to remain.
Look down on us from heaven
Keep us free from hurt and pain,
You’ll always be within my heart
Until we meet again.
All our love Always, Angela, Ricker and Holly

Laura Iannarelli
Dear Mommy Mary and Daddy John, Danaca and Pete, and Family,
Growing up on Birchview Crescent, we were blessed with a second family. To me, Catherine was another big sister, and a friend. Always positive, and generous, and always welcoming. Some of my most fond memories of Catherine is when we would visit at the cottage, playing card games, swimming in the pool, picking berries, and bon fires.
Growing up, Catherine was someone I could always be myself around even being just the awkward little sister. She made me feel valued and included, even though I was probably a little pest. She lived her life in a way that taught me being different, and being yourself, is not something you should ever apologize for, you should do it proudly and relentlessly and make your own joy out of all the beautiful things life has to offer.
My heart is with you,
Love,
Laura
Our world can’t be the same without you, Catherine, but because of you the world was made more beautiful.
Kerry Danac
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Catherine was an inspiration to me. She always had a smile and words of welcome when I visited the family. She liked to laugh and she she knew many interesting facts. She was a beautiful lady. God tests us and her test was more difficult than most.
God alone decides our time of departure (40:68), those who depart before the age of 40 go to heaven (46:15), and the righteous do not experience death, God takes their soul before the body dies (44:56). I am sad she departed this world, but I am happy the Most Gracious found a place for her in His kingdom.

Dear John, Mary and Danaca,
I was so sad to hear about Catherine’s passing from my mother.
I know it has been a long time since we have seen each other, but I remember fondly all the time we spent together as children: all your kindness, your delicious cooking, playing together at your house and at your cottage.
My deepest sympathies go out to you during this time.

Dear John and Mary;
We were saddened to learn of Catherine’s passing. The loss of a child is not the way that things are supposed to happen. Her time was short on this earth but she very likely packed as much into it as she could. Life is precious but it is the only one we have. We read the comments that your friends have made on-line and everyone recalls your daughter’s strength of character. We did not know her but we knew you from the Caledon Community choir. We were the two women who came in from Thornhill and sat in the back row with Joy and Ann G. You sat on the other side near Dan and Howard and Joe and sang your heart out. Our thoughts are with you. Dear Family,
It is with great sadness for your loss that I sit down to send you my condolences. I have such good memories of Catherine when I was teaching her voice. She had a lovely voice and enjoyed singing and was always also very interested in the text of the songs. Also when I met her where she was working, she was so kind. You have given her such a wonderful life in your family. Today it is 5 weeks ago that Ren did die as well. With all my love, Lenny Dykstra.

Dear Mr. And Mrs. Barnes,
I’m so sorry to read of this sad news. My thoughts are with you as the one year mark approaches. I just learned of this tradgedy. We were best friends for a decade and saw each other through many trials and celebrations. The caring and kind heart is truly what set her a part. When we were young adults we would plan our bridal parties for when the time came and our spinster years out together, should that special someone not come along. We shared jokes, books, advice, walks, and dessert. I will always cherish those memories.
Sincerely,
Julie
