Retired General Manager and Co-Owner of Leavens Bros. Air Services/Leavens Aviation, passed away peacefully at BramptonCivicHospital on Friday, June 28, 2013, Charles David Leavens, in his 84th year, his loving wife Terri (Theresa) and adored daughter Lea Anne with him. Chuck was a gentle man and a gentleman. He was a man of honour, integrity, generosity, and abiding honesty – a good man. He was so very proud of their family business and all the employees and family who helped them succeed through the many years, but most proud of loved and so special daughter Lea Anne. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Douglas and John. He leaves to enjoy memories his sister-in-law Reta Leavens, many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends and associates. He loved flying, long driving vacations, the cottage, snowmobiling with Laurie, curling and driving Bert’s tractor. Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place and there is no visitation or funeral service. We invite family and friends to join us on Monday, July 8th at Glen Eagle Golf Club, 15731 Regional Road 50 (Hwy. 50), Caledon from 1:30 to 5 p.m., to visit and reminisce or share a thought. Dress code: casual and cheerful clothing. A shuttle service will be available. Should you wish to honour Chuck’s memory – sit outdoors and look at clouds, take a quiet walk, be kind to yourself, hug someone and tell them you love them. Arrangements by Egan Funeral Home, Bolton (905-857-2213). Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Terri and Lea Anne
We are so saddened to hear of Chuck’s passing. We had such a wonderful visit last fall with Chuck at Charlie Vaughn’s funeral. A lot of memories were shared. Having worked at Leavens Air Charter from 1971 to 1979, I can attest to the accuracy of the above obituary – honour, integrity, generosity, honesty, a gentleman and a gentle man – that was Chuck to a “T”. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

We thought the 2012 Hall of Fame induction of Leavens Aviation was the end of an era. We were wrong – Chuck’s passing brings an absolute conclusion to 86 years of “Brothers” co-operation. May the seven brothers camp, fly, and reminisce together somewhere safe in a warm blue sky. Strength to Terri and Lea Anne to carry on without Chuck.

Our condolences to Terri and LeaAnn on the passing of Chuck.
We were your neighbors in Chomedey and, as a Montreal Soaring Council director of aircraft maintenance, I often had parts orders delivered to our house. After you left for Toronto, we bought your house and have lived here ever since.
We remember you as good neighbors and Chuck was the kind of guy you like to do business with. May he rest in peace and fly forever !
