Clarence was called home to be with his Lord and to join his dear wife, Kay on Monday, July 6, 2009, in his 83rd year. He lived his last few days in a beautiful setting and passed away at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington after a short battle with leukemia. Loving and gentle father of 6 children, Nancy and Chris Shoemaker, Burlington; Doug and Anne Gage, Orangeville; Barbara and David Carey, Sudbury; Cindy and Curtis Butler, Winnipeg; Stephen and Lisa Gage, Peterborough; Christine and Jeff Johnston, Burlington. Loving grandfather of Stephen, Sandra and Michelle Carey;Jenna, Jamie, Nicole and Matthew Gage;Nathan, Sarah and Aaron Johnston. He will be missed by sister Violet and Len Kurtz and sisters-in-law, Doreen Gage and Joan Gage. Predeceased by brothers Reg and Richard Gage. Clarence was a kind, gentle and generous Christian, who was a long-time devoted member of the Salvation Army. He retired from the Region of Peel and was a volunteer for 100 Huntley Street. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Wednesday evening 6:30 – 9 o’clock. Funeral service will be held in the Salvation Army Community Church, 9395 Bramalea Road North, Brampton on Thursday, July 9 at 2 o’clock. Interment Providence Cemetery, Caledon East. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church.
