My deepest condolences to you Cathy, Jeff & Denise and extended family. I was very saddened when I heard about Dave passing. My late father Eleno (Lee) Borg, my mom, and myself were trailer park neighbors of Dave & his family….when my dad passed away over 30 years ago, Dave said to me that they would take care of me…..that is what true friends do in a time of need. Now I will return the same and help Cathy and the family get through this very difficult time the best way I know how….by being that listening ear, that shoulder to cry on or that person to yell at.
Sincerely, Tanya (Richard) & Santo Urso

From what I have seen The Varcoes are quite the clan. A close family with amazing spirit and a deep love and respect for each other. Above and beyond that bond are a group of people who really and truly enjoy being together. Choosing to spend the moments they have with each other. That could only have been created and nurtured from the top. Dave and Denise Varcoe have built quite the legacy together and Daves passing leaves a devastating gap. I hope that you all lean into each other and your friends as you move through your grief. While you are in the loneliest place you are certainly not alone and have all the love we can muster.

Uncle David’s passing is a big loss to the family. He was a kind, caring, and strong man. It is a hard reality knowing that he isn’t here. My love to Aunt Denise, Jeff, and Cathy and the rest of the family. I know that the coming months will be hard and the coming years will not be the same. But know that you have lots of love and support around you. Heaven has received the number one angel. Xoxo

We were surprised and sorry to hear about Dave. I have a lot of memories of Dave when I was growing up at the camp. Fooling around , pulling pranks on each other and laughing so hard but also the times where a kick in the butt was needed or just a little advice, Dave was one of the guys I knew I could go to. It was always like one big family. Even later in life when we’d be at a birthday, wedding, cards or out on the water there was always a good laugh. He’ll be greatly missed.
John Greedy
David was a great person, he was so devoted to his work at Jack Greedy Limited. He went to all extremes to be sure everyone around him we’re always in a safe situation. He was very inquisitive and knew every aspect of every Hydro One site he was ever on. The Varcoe family had in their blood great equipment operators. It is so sad that after so many years of hard work the chance to go RVing to explore didn’t work out. On behalf of the entire Greedy family, THANK YOU for being a part of our family.

Deeply saddened to find out that Dave has left us so soon. I worked side by side with him at Hydro One for a few years as his dig monitor. Dave was liked by all , a true gentleman and caring person. Although I never met his family members he shared his experiences , admiration and love he had for all of you. I remember how sad he was when he lost his pal husky. The dog hair in his war wagon remained long afterwards.
Rest well my friend, Derrick

Dear Denise – of course I have known David even longer – was it 1958/9 the family moved in as near neighbours on Jeffcoat Drive and then once Heatherbrae we all walked to school together Dave, Craig Darby, Carol Ewing, Robert Hopper and I and then he met you so 55 years together really, We must have been good for each other as Robert and Wendy Hopper had a love as long almost as yours and I have been also blessed – I have never forgotten those school days and sending hugs from a first friend. Be strong.
