February 23, 1932 – November 9, 2022
Passed peacefully at King Nursing Home in his 91st year. Loving father of Dean jr and father-in-law to Margo, adoring Grampy of Brittany (Reed) and Martin (Jess). Predeceased by his brothers, Harry, Allie, Bob and Guy Brooks all from New Brunswick. Dean will be missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also in New Brunswick. Dean arrived in Ontario in 1952 as a young man ready for an adventure. He stayed in downtown Toronto for a few years and then moved to Etobicoke for a few more years until he settled in Caledon East in 1972. He worked for Sealtest Dairy driving truck for over 35 years. Dean was the proud owner of Brooks Lumber in Caledon East for many years where he enjoyed the feel of the small community. Dean enjoyed being outdoors whether it was hunting and fishing, growing potatoes, milling wood or cutting firewood. He looked forward to springtime so he could get back outdoors to the sugar shack having a beverage with family and friends while making maple syrup. It was never a long journey travelling back and forth to New Brunswick to spend time with family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at King Nursing Home for their care and compassion during his stay.
A private family service will be held.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to King Nursing Home, 49 Sterne Street, Bolton L7E 1B9 or Bethell Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 75, Inglewood L7C 3L6 (www.foundation.bethellhospice.org).
