November 22, 1964 – October 28, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas A. Tennant of Caledon East announce his passing. Doug passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 59. Loving son of Elizabeth, step son of Robert Shaw, brother of Len (Leanne), Rhonda Seed (Dave), Margo (Dean Brooks) and Jack (Debbie). Uncle of seven nieces and nephews and great-uncle to four. Predeceased by father William (Bill) Tennant in 1988. Leaves behind his beloved cat Blossom.
Doug was passionate about fishing, and would spend hours fishing in the Caledon East Creek. Each year Doug started growing his beard in early fall in preparation for bringing joy to his friends at Christmas by dressing up in his Santa suit and visiting them and handing out candy canes. Also St Patrick’s Day was another favourite holiday for Doug to dress as a leprechaun.
The family would like to thank the healthcare providers at Brampton Civic for their kindness and the care provided.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 3rd from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1267 Queen St W, Alton L7K 0C4.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethell Hospice Foundation (foundation.bethellhospice.org), Inglewood or a charity of your choice.

Dear Beth, Bob and family,
Sincere condolences, love and hugs to all the family on the loss of Doug. I’ll miss seeing the red head buzzing through town on his scooter with a great big grin and always ready to chat. He was a “one off” and he will certainly be missed; gone too soon.
