Suddenly at Brampton Civic Hospital on Thursday, January 19, 2023, Douglas Proulx of Bolton, in his 86th year, beloved husband of Gail Proulx. Cherished father of Keith and his wife Tina Proulx, Wayne and his wife Yuleen Proulx. Proud grandfather of Dylan, Karson, Addyson, Ashley and Tyler Proulx.
Doug was born in Kingdon Mine near Arnprior, Ontario on June 6, 1937 to Larry and Lillian Proulx. Doug was the youngest of 7 boys. Doug lived life to the fullest. He loved a good party with family and great friends and had a great sense of humour. Doug loved to fish and hunt in his spare time. However there was nothing Doug loved more than his children, grandchildren and the love of his life, his wife of 60 years. He will be greatly missed everyday.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Saturday, February 18 from 2 – 4 o’clock for a memorial reception.

My deepest condolences, I have great memories of Doug, he was a cherished member of our hunt camp in Magnetawan for many years until his health restricted his ability to make the trek into the camp. Doug was so generous and easy going, his presence in our camp will truly be missed. RIP Snuggy Dougie.

Dear Gail, Keith and family,
We all have such great memories of Papa Doug. So many birthdays, holidays and special events celebrated together. Tim and Brady were lucky to have gone on fishing trips with him. The stories of his antics and jokes will always bring laughter and great memories. Especially his noisy hearing aid! He was like a grandfather to Emma and Brady. We all loved him and will miss him so much.
Love Tim, Nikki, Emma and Brady xoxo

Aunt Gail, Keith, Wayne and families. We are all sending our love and strength during this difficult time. We just can’t say his name without bringing a smile to our face and a great story to our lips. He was loved by everyone he met, and enjoyed being with everyone he met. He will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts. Thank you Uncle Doug for many memorable years.

Dear Gail, Keith, Wayne,
So very sorry to hear of this loss. Someone just recently said to me that Doug was the guy that everyone wanted as a Grampa, his heart was as big as the world. All the neighborhood kids loved him, the Thompsons, the Bennett’s, the DiMauro’s, etc. The Bennett’s have been blessed to be not only neighbors to the Proulx’s in Bolton for many years, but we’re also they’re neighbors in Florida as well, so I guess we’ll be neighbors in Heaven too Dougy, see yah when we get there. Our condolences,
The Bennett’s

Dear Gail, Keith, Wayne and Family
Losing Doug is one of the hardest things to accept. We had been best buddies for over 57 years fishing and hunting. Doug was like a Father to me. We shared a lot of things but his family was always his biggest love. Doug will be deeply missed
