Dr. Sharon, my heart is breaking as I write this. You were always there for us. I believe that you are now surrounded by all the people and animals you have helped during your lifetime. They are very happy to see you. I hope this is not too much to ask: Please hug all of my animals when you see them and tell them that I love them and miss them very much. I hope you know how much you are missed and how many lives you changed.
Daniele dewaele
I find myself at a loss for words . Sharon was truly an exceptional person. Her knowledge and her dedication to helping animals in need was beyond anything I have encountered. As perhaps mentioned before she had an exceptional soul. I will so miss seeing her and sharing in her knowledge as well many others who were dedicated to her. Truly a huge loss. Condolences to her family.

The pet community not too mention their owners have lost a brillient woman with incrdible knowledge that unfortunately has left this world with her—-Sharon was the most amazing woman, who could just look at an animal and know the problem—I was in awe watching how she could relate to any issue–
Rest in Peace Sharon, life can be so unfair, you gave so much and left us way too soon—My sympathies to your family

Sharon, there will never be anybody like you ever again. I can’t believe what I learned from you over the last 12 years that you’ve been taking care of my beautiful pets. I always said you had wings on your back, but we just didn’t see them. I have so many memories over the years. Please hug all of my babies when you see them as they’re so missed, but now they’ll have you, too. Thank you for all you did for us over the years. I’m sending virtual hugs to your family and will meet them on Saturday. Love you, Sharon. Jan

We came to know Sharon by an introduction from another vet who has since also passed away. She truly was a different soul and was a great help and source of knowledge. We have her to thank for years of care for our family. We hope she is at peace and our thoughts are with her family. Keith, Valerie, Byron, Boomer and River.

Dr. Sharon was such a kind and caring person. She was so full of wisdom that it was a treat just to talk with her. She has helped my animals so much over the years. She always had time for everyone and gave 110% of herself to be there for others. I am at a complete loss to be without her. God bless you Sharon for all the care and kindness you have shown others during your lifetime. The world has lost a great woman. My deepest sympathy to Michael, Lisa and family.

Am sorry to hear about Sharon’s passing. Our paths did not cross after graduation but I remember her as caring and compassionate individual and appreciate the lives and pets she has touched.
Inez Buote Allan
Sharon was our veterinarian and friend for 25 years. Her dedication to her patients and any animal in need was above and beyond any I have ever know. Thank you Sharon, for your knowledge and compassion over the years. I promise you our family will continue to move forward with everything you have taught us to keep our furbabies healthy. Our beautiful little Matilda, whom you treated only a few months ago, is still going strong, almost 20. When the time comes to say goodbye, I know you’ll be there to meet her. You will be missed by our family and everyone else who loves you so very much. Rest easy, Dr. Sharon, you will never be forgotten.
Jill Giancola and family
Sharon, you are one of a kind, unique, a wise woman, a seer, a courageous and principled woman with a heart of gold and an empathetic soul. I feel truly blessed to have known you these past twenty years, to have watched you connect with my animals – dogs, cats, and horses and to marvel at your intuition and knowledge. We will all miss you terribly and will try to remember the many bits of wisdom you taught us as you treated the ailments our beloved animals. You are with the Angels for you have surely earned your wings.
Condolences to Michael and family.

You have saved so many animals that no one else could manage to save.
You taught me so much and gave me the confidence to help others in the pet care field.
I’ll never forget you.

Sharon was a true pioneer in wholistic veterinary health, who treated the whole body, mind and spirit of every animal that was lucky enough to be helped by her. She treated them with such reverence and love and was so very dedicated to her work. A true healer! I got to know Sharon when my first cat, Red Paw, got diabetes. She helped prolong his life, and helped my other cats as well. I will be forever grateful.

Crossing paths is not by chance, it’s fate we all did with this beautiful kind soul, Sharon will be forever in our hearts and memories. Our deepest condolences to Sharon’s family and friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear the loss of Sharon. Sharon is an exceptional veterinarian. She is kind, think outside the box, and not afraid of using a different approach to help the animals. For that, I am forever grateful Sharon was able to treat my puppy; now 13, where no other vets can do. My dogs and I would travel from Ottawa to see Sharon for the past ten years because we adore her not because they are sick. We are so lucky to cross path with you, Sharon until we meet again. My condolences to the family.
With Gratitude,

Sharon K was one of a kind. There will never be another person out there with her knowledge and her natural gift of reading and helping my girls (dogs). I have known Sharon for over 25 years. All my girls that saw Sharon lived a wonderful life as well as longer than to be expected because of her special tinctures and herbs. I wrote a letter to Sharon a bit ago. I sure hope she was able to read it or at least listen to what I had to say. I will miss you deeply my friend. I only wish I could have looked into your eyes one more time to let you know what you have meant to me and my girls. Where ever you are Sharon please know you will always be in my heart

Dr. Sharon was a unique & irreplaceable human being. Her gifts of healing, caring & communication with animals far exceeded any traditional vet. She stood up for what she believed in, & accumulated dozens of loyal clients over many decades of dedicated work helping animals. She was fiercely loyal to her belief that traditional medicine was not always the right way to go, & she proved her point countless times, saving often “terminally-ill” animals, with her knowledge & experience. Sharon’s fiesty, independent nature was controversial, but her love of animals was genuine, on-going & lifelong…There must be a record-breaking gathering right now at the Rainbow Bridge! RIP Dr. Sharon. Sincere condolences to Michael & all of Sharon’s family & friends…xoxo

It’s hard to put into words what Sharon meant to me and my fur-family I’ve had through the years. Sharon kept my babies in the best physical health and did so in a caring and loving way and without ever thinking of financial gain. Her farm was like a second home to me and my crew. God speed Sharon…I’m sure you are surrounded by the hundreds and hundreds of pets you saved including mine. Mary-Ann Male

We love Sharon very much. So sorry to hear of her passing. She was such a loving, capable, magical, gifted, truly one-of-a-kind person. We’ll forever think of her fondly, and miss her. Words can’t express how much she means to us, and how grateful we are to her for her years of help. Sending love and condolences to her family and friends.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Sharon. She was a special person in my life as a trusted and supportive Veterinarian when I was in need of help and support. Her clinic doors were always open. She knew her way around this world, always shared a little knowledge every time I met her. I will remain grateful to have known her and will dearly miss her.
I am sorry for your loss.

Profoundly saddened at the passing of Sharon. She was an incredible soul who was able to truly communicate with animals. I would show up for an appointment and witness dogs excitedly wagging their tails as they walked in the door to see her. She would stand in front of them and quietly communicate with them. She fought tirelessly for the rights of animals and educated countless humans. She improved my cat, Burney’s health immensely and helped him pass peacefully at the end. Because of her connection to an animal’s spirit, she was able to give me messages that only Burney could give me and the peace that gave me I can not even put into words. Travel well Sharon, may you rest in infinite peace. You will have so many animal friends waiting for you. Xoxo
My sincere condolences to the entire family and all who had the honour of knowing Sharon.
Dr. Jack Gewarter
Such a powerful spirit! Sharon will be sadly missed as a colleague, friend and guiding light.
Carmen
My most sincere condolences to Michael and family. You will suffer the loss of Sharon’s physical presence, but her spirit will always remain close.
Sharon, when I first came to you many years ago, much younger and definitely much dumber, you opened my eyes. Until then, I, like many others, walked in a daze and went along with whatever I was told. Do this, do that, and everything will be fine, but it wasn’t. And the animals always knew it, didn’t they? You gave them voice, you were their translator. They went along with whatever we did out of the love they had for us.
You taught me that all is not well with this world and to question everything. You inspired me to fight to make things right. And I have, tirelessly, with your spirit alongside me. I’ve shared with others what you’ve shown me and made this world a little better.
Words cannot express how much I will miss you on earth, my teacher. I’ll see you on the other side. Love you always.
Patti Hanco
Devastated over the loss of the most generous and brilliant friend I had in Sharon. She taught me so much and cared for generations of pets including my Artie and Clara who I am sure are sitting on her lap now.
My deepest condolences to Michael, Lisa and a Barbara and to all of us who loved Sharon so much.
Sharon was a gift to the world but God felt he needed her more.
I’m sure Sharon has her riding boots on and is tearing up the turf in heaven on her beloved Bismarck with hundreds of dogs and cats chasing them.
Kind of like a Thellwell painting.
I love you Sharon!
Nancy Morris
I feel truly blessed to have known Sharon with all her special gifts for over 25 years. I will miss her beautiful soul, blue eyes and her greeting of “oh, hello dear”. She was intelligent, thoughfull, caring, gentle and very giving. I know she will be missed by many.
Heartfelt condolences to her family.

I was sad to hear of the loss of my classmate. Sharon was a bright and caring student with good people skills. It is no surprise that she was loved by her friends, family and clients. Good people are always missed when they leave us.
Linda Ratcliffe
It is so difficult to say goodbye to you, my long time friend. You got me through university by feeding me grilled cheese sandwiches. I remember baby Michael sleeping on a bale of hay while you examined a sick horse and watching him learn to walk by at Preston Animal Clinic. You were a knowledgeable and caring veterinarian and started using natural remedies long before they were in vogue. You were unique and brave and kind and you can certainly say: “I did it my way”

Mike & Lisa – may all the cherished memories that your mother has given you, bring you comfort and warmth during this time.

….” Dogs They provide us with protection and shower us with affection, asking only that a little ball be tossed another 100 times.” ……
This was the card I picked up and was going to send Sharon today when I received the message of her passing. Inside the card I was thanking her for all the years (25 , I believe) that she has cared for our canine family members with such passion and perspective of what healthcare should be all about.
Sharon took the belief of ‘do no harm’ to such heights. With her insight(s) about animal care she has opened eyes and hearts to the profound wisdom nature has that we only have to listen and learn. Thank you for each and every lesson, I was listening, even when I might not have fully agreed, you taught me.
Again …..Thank you for your care of all our canine family members ….. the community is a better place because of you and now we morn the loss of someone so dedicated to their craft.
Jennifer Moon
Deepest sympathy sent to you all. My mother Avril worked for Sharon for many years. She will be one of the first to greet Sharon and wrap her spirit around her.

I was very sad to hear of the loss of Dr. Kopinak.
Sharon was so intelligent and kind. What I really liked is that she was so down to earth.
She loved and cared for animals.
I believe she could really talk to the animals
A kind and loving soul.
She will be dearly missed by all. Simply a beautiful person.
My condolences to her family.

I knew Dr. Sharon for only a few years, but I wish I had found her years earlier. My fondest memory is of her sitting on the floor talking and examining my Boston, Tilly. Tilly took to her immediately and raced to door whenever we arrived. Her diagnosis and treatment plans were right on target and added several years to Tilly. Tilly is still with us but visiting Dr. Sharon is one less joy in her life. We will both miss her and the country clinic.

Dear Michael and family
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. I had alot of respect for your mother. Both she and I had great discussions as I am a physician. She helped me with my cats and helped to prolong their lives. She taught me to think outside of traditional medicine. I will miss her. She was a wonderful lady. Sharon keep your eye out for Zoe and Haley. You helped them so much when no one else could. RIP my friend.
Joanne Chrobot
My kids, all of our animals you have cared for all these years (20+), and I, love you so much Sharon. You were and are one of the people that we will always remember and speak about. You have had such a profound impact on thousands of lives, helping animals live, live longer and much healthier lives, and easing their humans’ hearts knowing they were being cared for by the best. God is smiling. I am sure those that have passed that you healed, both animal and human, were all waiting for you with open arms and much love. You proved that holistic healing is the way to go as it takes an approach that includes body, mind and spirit/soul which you had down to an art, and then add in your natural intuition. It’s beyond words really. I was always in awe of, and loved watching/feeling, how easily, expertly and elegantly you worked with animals, and all from the heart and soul. Thank you for being in our lives and making such a huge difference in this world.
Joanne, Jennifer and Jonathan Chrobot
Tango (dog), Felix (cat), Gavin (cat), Alfie (cat), Hunter (cat), you never actually met Hunter in person, but we spoke about him when I got him at 6 weeks, and he’s turning 9 soon, healthy as a horse 🙂

I am finding it hard to both believe and accept that Sharon is gone. I knew Sharon for over 25 years. I first met her when my vet at the time referred me to Sharon to save my cat when no one else could. She has since treated many more of my pets through the years. I also had the privilege of working for her in the “office” for a while before going to teachers college where I learned so much from her. Reading through the eloquently written condolences shows how deeply she touched the lives of so many people and animals. It speaks volumes that the immense void she leaves behind is nonetheless filled to overflowing with her wisdom, compassion and love that will have to sustain everyone in her absence. My deepest condolences go out to her family, her own pets and all who must miss her so deeply. Thank you for sharing your mother with all of us Michael. I am grateful to have crossed paths with such an incredible person person. Thank you for everything Sharon . I will miss you so much. Peace be with you.

One of the most influential people that I have met in my life. Over the years and the many visits to her farm, Sharon taught me so much about my own dogs, animal behaviour, health and wellness and that often times, choices do exist for a more natural approach to animal care. She was a remarkable person.

Dr. Sharon Kopinak was a wonderful compassionate woman , a kindred spirit, and an amazing guardian of our pets. For16 years she took care of my cats and dogs and there is no one that will ever be able to replace her. I will miss her and our many talks over the years.
My heart is heavy. God Bless you Sharon, till we meet again.

Sharon
What an amazing, gifted and unique individual. Sharon did things her way and did not follow the beaten path. Her compassion and care for each animal she treated was obvious and very touching. She had such a way with animals – even those like my dog Tasha (Sharon always called her “the miracle dog”) who didn’t like many people – took immediately to Sharon. Gentle but determined, always looking for the root cause of a problem rather than at the superficial symptoms – I was often amazed at what Sharon could see that others could not.
I wish her spirit peace, joy and freedom. My sincere condolences to her family.
Pennie Jackson
I am so sorry for you loss. Sharon was a force of nature. Her abilities were unmatched, and her kindness and gentle nature will be missed. Deepest sympathies for the family.

My sympathies to Sharon’s family and friends. Sharon was an exceptional person, who made a difference in the lives of so very many. I admired her gentle wisdom. So sorry for your loss.

Our sincere condolences to the family and all who knew Sharon. She will be missed beyond words as no one could ever come close to having her wisdom, knowledge, intuition, love and compassion. She was truly a special woman and animal communicator. She was fiercely loyal to animals first as I learned a couple years ago when even after her helping my fur children for years” I didn’t get it that day” Sharon got mad and made me cry But thanks to that my heart dog is alive !! I will always strive to remember all you’ve taught me Fly free in peace and happiness surrounded by all the animals you have loved.

I first met Sharon about 50 years ago when she was a young veterinarian at Preston Animal Hospital. I have always admired Sharon’s intuition. She would pull things from the recesses of her mind and use them to help our pets. “Do you remember (some name from our past)? When her heart was failing she did x, I think that will work for Penny”. And it made a difference. Sharon forgot more than most people will ever know and her caring love for all animals, while it caused her grief in her life, also brought her joy. So many of us found peace and warmth when we took animals to Sharon for treatment, usually after everyone else had given up. She healed animals, but she nurtured their owners too.
Sheron Bailey
Dr. Kopinak will be missed by my family. Sharon introduced us to a whole world of information on how to care for our pet child. She was an amazing person and Doctor. The opportunity to meet her was a great privilege.
Our very sincere condolences to Mike and the entire Kopinak family. With love from Lindsay Bailey and Tuesday Bailey.
Beth Galloway
We’ve truly lost a mentor and leader and friend with this news….not only do I owe Daphne, Bogie and Hudson’s health and many years of life that would have otherwise been cut short, I also owe her for helping point my mother and myself in the correct direction in regards to our own health.
If not for her recognizing underlying Lyme issues that she could see in us and recommending Dr Jozek Krop, I’m not sure if I would be living the life that I am now, as well as my mother.
Auntie Sharon’s influence goes well beyond the canine world for us, words cannot express the gratitude and she was always on my “lottery list”. If I won the lottery, her farm would have been one that I paid off before I left town.
I task everyone on this list to continue to live her Enduring Values and keep the legacy going, share what we’ve learned and teach others, I’m sure she would be happy to hear that and it’s the least I can do.
Mathilde J Struck
We are shocked and so sad to hear of Dr.Sharons passing.
We have known her for for many years. We trusted her implicitly, respected her and loved her no nonsense approach.
Dr. Sharon was such a gentle kind an compassionate person. We will miss her but never forget her.She was truly one of a kind.
Our deepest sympathy to the family.

Passionate, dedicated, humble and full of unbridled wit. A visit to Sharon for me was like traveling back in time. Her home was a place of gathering for all those who needed her care……and there were many. Listening to Sharon share her wisdom and witness her obvious connection with the animals was like having the rare opportunity to watch an artist create a masterpiece. She instilled an inner calm in my heart because I always knew no matter how bad things could appear, I could always count on Sharon to have a plan. She not only provided hope, but time and time again she achieved outstanding results with her patients. She was a life line to so many and I am forever grateful to her for every visit. My sincere sympathy goes out to Sharon’s family, her pets and all those who loved her.
Rachel Baril
I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Sharon’s passing. My small family and I loved Dr. Sharon. She was a beautiful spirit, a strong woman with am extremely bright mind. She loved her profession and this was evident in the passion she brought to her work every day. She treated our dog Tusca and called her Tuscarora. At first I thought that maybe it was because Tusca barked to protect Dr. Sharon and I when we visited and other dogs entered the room (roar), but I later learned that Tuscarora is a word of aboriginal significance. Tuscarora are a native tribe and First Nations band government of the Iroquoian-language family with members today in North Carolina, New York and Ontario. I loved when Dr. Sharon spoke about her father and what she learned from him with respect to her culture and medicinal plant-based healing.
Dr. Sharon was a unique and irreplaceable individual and we were so lucky to be able to benefit from all of her knowledge. She will forever have a very special place in our hearts. We learned a great deal from Dr. Sharon through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Dr. Sharon’s family who has been so fortunate to have had such a strong and incredible role model.
Rest in peace Dr. Sharon knowing that you made a real difference in the lives of so many!
Rachel, Jean-Pierre and Tuscarora

I think the condolences I have read, pretty much say it all….yet, I am compelled to add my two cents….yes, Sharon was one of a kind, wise, intuitive, caring and so giving of her time and expertise for all animals and their owners. I had not the occasion to see Sharon in the past 15 years but thought and spoke of her often…..she left a huge impact on me and clearly, on all who had the good fortune to witness her work. She did not suffer fools gladly and if she felt you were not “getting” her message about something, she did not hesitate to let her annoyance show. I respected her for this…she knew that of which she spoke…so wise……so healing. May her spirit soar! Such a loss of those she left behind!
Janice Gannon
Dr Kopinak helped shift my work into the healing work I do today, both animals and people. She was a pioneer and I truly valued what she gave to me. She worked on my horse (Stretch) several times and I appreciated all the learning she shared.
Barbara Van Sickle
So many have expressed their incredible respect for Sharon definitely nothing I could add to all these condolences, apart from yet another saying that she had a way about her that made an immediate connection with my animals, calming them and treating them —-such knowledge, on every level—Not one person could fill her shoes, not one animal will receive her incredible knowledge for just about any problem. Life can be so unfair, no person should be struck down when they have given so much—Take care Sharon, you are now with all that have crossed before you—, —-My sympathies to all the family you have lost one of the great ones—
Jennifer Heick
Sharon was an amazing veterinarian and a kind soul. She helped so many animals and, therefore, their caregivers as well. Her wealth of knowledge was outstanding. We have lost a pioneer. My condolences to her family and friends.

The Veterinary world has lost a very important and influential member. Sharon was my Vet and friend for 18 years. She was amazing with animals….even with my difficult and temperamental cat Blondie. Sharon would say that she needed to meditate before examining her but she was the only Vet that Blondie would accept. . Sharon I envision you passing over and being joyously welcomed by all the animals whose paths you crossed and passed before you. You will be so missed.
Ann Crawford
I first met Sharon nearly 30 years ago. She has seen several of my cats over the years. I remember her saying to me, so long ago, “I have brought many back”. That was so true. Sharon, I shall miss you so much. I admire and respect you, learned so much from you. I loved sitting in your living room, listening and learning while you talked to other people and their animals. Once, a dog had a seizure while I was waiting my turn. I was so impressed by your calmness and how you walked off and got him the drug he needed, waiting, watching his recovery. I learned how not to panic at every little thing. You saved and prolonged the lives of several of my pets. I always wanted to write your biography, and wish so much now that I had followed up on that. The human world and animal world will miss you so much. Thank you for all you have done for the world. My deepest condolences to your family.

We are all deeply saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was an amazing and caring person who, over the years, not only helped our own pets but also those of our customers. Always making time to help anyone we sent to her, she will be truly missed. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

You were not just a healer for the animals that were graced by your care. You were a healer of souls to all that had the wonderful pleasure of being in your company.
Your will be dearly cherished forever and missed every day.
May you forever be surrounded by love that you showed to every living thing that you touched.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Michael and the family.
It was my greatest honour to have known Dr. Sharon for nearly 30 years. It is great loss to all our 4 legged and feathered children as there is no other with the knowledge of alternative veterinarian medicine as Sharon. Not only did she help our furry friends but also passed knowledge to us humans.
Dear Dr. Sharon RIP and join all yours and our dearly departed at Rainbow bridge where they all are awaiting you.

My deepest, deepest sympathy to Michael and family for their recent loss of they beloved mother and friend. Much has already been said about Sharon’s outstanding loving qualities. I’ve personally experienced them for at least 30 years. Among her many qualities, she was a spiritual person and an avid Bible reader. She might have been familiar with the Bible book of Ecclesiastes 9:5a “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all …….. Is death the end of it all. Jesus spoke of a resurrection here on earth when death, sickness and pain will be done away with. Dr. Kopinak is now in God’s memory awaiting that time. In the meantime, Michael and family, may God comfort and sustain you with this wonderful hope, found in the Bible of seeing your mother again.
Evelyn Hopping
Sharon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She had such a big heart and cared for any animal in need. She even opened her home to rescue the unwanted.

A life lived and loved well,
A destiny followed,
A strength to go forward with holistic medicine in the face of all the challenges against her from the veterinary establishment,
A leader who built a foundation upon which all other holistic veterinarians could stand upon and launch upward to reach their higher level of truly understanding animal health in a natural way.
For this, I thank you and shall miss your contributions and conversations in holistic medicine as a colleague and friend. Cindy Kneebone DVM

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was an amazing vet who thought out of the box. So unique in the way she worked with animals. An amazing healer, a pioneer in the holistic field, kind, generous, so intelligent and intuitive and always there for your animal and you….One in a million!!! Her love, dedication and devotion to the animal world and their human companions was on and beyond any other vet I had ever met.
We met her back in the early 1980’s when we were having issues with our dog Rufus (who she told us, to our surprise, was mostly a wolf.) Sharon kept her with us for 17 years. Amazing!!!!
She was so different from any other vet we had ever encountered and she was able to get Rufus back on her feet with her alternative methods. All my other animals after Rufus benefitted as well with her loving care.
I learned so much from her. She started me on my path of holistic understanding and healing and new ways of approaching health issues for animals and their owners.
Sharon had me cook properly for Rufus (she ate better than we did lol!!!), she taught me all kinds of ways to heal holistically and she was the one who tested, validated and continually encouraged me to write healing music for the animals. I’ll never forget when I changed one of the songs I had written for her which included adding different sounds and effects , she said and I quote… Sharon take those human ears off and put your animal ears back on… I definitely took her advice!!!!
I will always be in deep gratitude for all she taught me through the years.
When I first met Sharon so many years ago, I felt I had known her forever. I’m going to miss her so much and I have a feeling that everyone who has had the chance to be in her life will too. She will remain in my heart and the hearts of so many animals, friends and of course family.
My condolences to all of Sharon’s family. Thank you Michael for sharing your Mom for all these years with so many. She was one of a kind!!!!!

My deepest deepest condolences to Michael, your family and to everyone who loved Sharon.
I’m crushed to hear of Sharon’s passing.
Meeting her over 35 years ago to treat my horses, was one of the greatest things to happen in my life. Sharon was more then a veterinarian, she was a great friend, confidant, a teacher and my soul sister.
My the Great Spirit hold you close on your journey.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Dr Sharon was such an inspiration for me, my life and the lives of my animals were made better just by knowing her. In fact it was her advice that was most helpful in treating my daughter’s colic as a baby!I will always fondly remember afternoons spent in her office, and all I learned from her there. She has touched the lives of so many and made our corner of the world a better place. I will miss her dearly.
Kim Lavoie
My deepest condolences to the family and all of us that have had the privilege of being in Sharons beautiful capable hands.
She was an earth angel that endured many challenges and obstacles putting our animals first.
We were truly blessed to have known her and my 13 year old Bouvier and 1 year old Bouvier grandpuppy
are very grateful.
We can’t put into words how missed she will be
RIP

Beautifully stated Beth!! How very true. We all owe so much to that wonderful lady of the healing light. A genius and willing to take on anyone who would compromise values that she believed in. The world needs more Dr. Sharons. I feel very privileged to have known her and blessed by her healing abilities for my fur kids and friends like you and my own health too. Sharon was like a healing encyclopedia…no one can ever duplicate what she brought to our world…no one.
Rest in peace – no more battles to be won now…..your spirit, Sharon, will live on in all of us.
Donna and Chantelle Fieldhouse
Dear family of Dr. Sharon; I can only imagine what you are going through and have been going through since news of her last challenge was heard. I have a suspicion, though, that she prepared you for it as only she could do.
I was deeply concerned for her and my heart ached when I heard the news that she had to close the doors of her clinic. The farm and the clinic were her. My prayer for her was that she had another passion on a back burner that would surface and receive the blessing of her attention. However, God had other plans. She never had to learn to live life without her practice.
I ditto all her character witnesses above. My daughter and I were graced by her insights on every visit. Dr. Sharon treated Sadi, our border collie/black lab cross; Sadi would start to cry 5 minutes away from the farm when she realized where we were going, she was so happy to see Dr. Sharon again. Dr. Sharon helped us let go of Sadi last October 27th. Because of her guidance I was comfortable that it was the right thing to do.
To Dr. Sharon’s family: as you grieve, may you find peace and strength in your memories, and pick up her passion for reading the Bible.

Mike, Lisa and Family – our most sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. What a privilege to have had her with you at home when her time came. A mother may be physically gone, but never truly gone – she will remain in your hearts forever and her legacy lives on in you and your children.
Sending our thoughts to you all at this time.

The news of Sharon’s death was devastating to me. I mourn her passing, not only for my own sake and that of my pets, but also for the sake of all the people and animals who will no longer be able to benefit from her wisdom and knowledge, her kindness and compassion, her healing hands. Although I have not needed to visit her with my cats for some time now she has been my primary vet for over 20 years, and words cannot express how grateful I am to have known her and how very much I will miss her. Rest peacefully, Sharon, amongst the happy souls of the countless animals you helped during their lifetime on earth. To your family I offer my deepest condolences.

My deepest sympathy to her entire family. Sharon was unlike any other vet I know. She really didn’t have business hours & always made herself available when I needed her most. I recall a rush drive back from Sault Ste Marie on a Saturday with a very sick dog & Sharon insisting I bring her to her home/office regardless of the time of night. I got there around 10:30pm & Sharon spent an hour with us, explaining what was going on & what we needed to do. The following morning (a Sunday) she arranged for tests to be done. I could tell so many more stories of what she did & meant to me but there simply isn’t enough space. She truly loved the animals & I will be forever grateful for her having been a part of my life. Rest in peace.

“Life takes you to unexpected places, love brings you home” So many beautiful words have described you already. Your beautiful soul has touched my life and I am forever greatful. I know you are looking at all of us from above as you said you would. I can only imagine how you are shaking things up over there. Thanks for everything you have done.
I would love it if everyone could contribute to a Facebook page dedicated to Sharon and her teachings. Hopefully we can share experiences and use this to help each other in the future as we go on without her. “Sharon’s Friends – Rockin Horse Farm”

Dr Kopinak became my mentor and inspiration after she saved my Shelby’s life 22 years ago. She taught me so many things in the many visits we made to see her. She changed the way I viewed dogs and my approach to training dogs. Thank you Sharon for everything. You were truly one of a kind and made such an impact on so many pet owners. I will be forever grateful for your guidance and support. May you Rest In Peace. My sincere condolences to the family.

My heart is broken. Sharon, you will be missed by many. Condolences to her family.

Dear family of Dr. Sharon, I am not sure where to start…In shock at our loss, not just us humans…but oh our dear animal family members….what will we do with out you Sharon….I am sure there are so many four legged fur balls that have met and greeted you already, and I am sure you are surrounded by their love…may it comfort you as family and friends to know that she is welcomed into heaven…she has crossed that “rainbow” bridge, may she rest in peace and happiness knowing she left her mark here on earth that will never be forgotten.

Sharon always left quite an impression on everyone she met. She was brilliant and inspired many, but most importantly she really cared. Over the years I have shared many stories of her enduring spirit in the face of adversity. She was such a strong and determined woman, someone I looked up to and she will remain one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. Sharon was such a gift to us all, and will be very missed.
Sending my heartfelt sympathies to Michael, his family and all of Sharon’s friends and clients.
Since hearing of the loss of my dear friend the world seems to have lost some of its colour .

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Sending you warm thoughts through difficult days.

Our thoughts are with the family of Sharon Kopinak. Sharon was truly a different veterinarian, who really could treat a lot of animals that other vets could not. Sharon was a very strong person, who had tons of energy that everyone envied, and her knowledge was extensive. Sharon will be sadly missed, but we will all have fond memories of her, as she really helped a lot of animals and people as well.

We were so sad to hear of Sharon’s passing. Our condolences to her family.
Sharon was truly a special person. She loved and cared for our Bichon (Monty) from the time he was born, until he passed away 13 years later. She will be dearly missed.
Miranda Rylance
I left a voicemail at Sharon’s clinic just now before learning the news of her passing and am in shock to learn this news.
Sharon….was so many things for me…a guide and teacher and Dr to all three of my dogs. When I brought my first pup to her she first expressed concern for my health (somehow knowing I was very unwell myself) before tending to my dog Vajra. I was quite alone with my own poor health and my pups at the time…and the fact that she “saw” us both…made me feel safe and cared for.
I am so incredibly grateful to have known her…to have met her. I cannot possibly do her any justice with words. I sobbed for a good while upon learning of her passing. I wish I could send more than my condolences to her family, to your family, Sharon.
To say I miss you and will miss you is an understatement. I hope that you knew how appreciated, cherished, adored, admired you were by all of us who knew you. It was a gift to have known you.
Little Bear will miss you. You were the best vet…one of the best people I have ever known.
All of my love to you and you family.

My animals and I were blessed to know Sharon over a period of 40 years. I can’t imagine life with out her wisdom to guide us all. Her office was in her home and animals were welcome. She had a goat in her kitchen keeping warm when I was there once. Thank you Sharon for all you did for us and for the fun times we shared.
Sending love and comfort to Michael and Lisa, their family and the rest of Sharon’s family,

What can I say about Sharon that already hasn’t been said!
She contributed so much to the health and welfare to countless dogs and cats with her conventional and not so conventional methods which gave “more time” and happiness to the terminally ill pets that other vets literally gave up on.
She worked endlessly with giving these seriously sick tiny souls with a good quality of life and it was not uncommon for her to get totally attached to your furry members of the family.
She was strong and courageous to live her life on her own “terms” and one of the most honest and truthful individual I have ever met.
I am very grateful for knowing her and the “journey” she took me on which resulted in changing my outlook and lifestyle and having a greater appreciation for nature, the impact we have on the environment and the natural and holistic treatments for my pets and myself.
She was not only my veterinarian but also my friend and mentor and I know she is finally at peace but I already miss her enormously!!
Thank you for touching all our lives with your “healing spirit”!!!
Sue Gaskell
I am bereft. I’ve known Sharon since the 1970’s. She was so far ahead of her time as a person, & as a vet. This is so tough for me to fathom. She first saved my horse at Woodbine Racetrack in the 1970’s when the other vets recommended euthanasia. For the last 20 years she helped me with rescued pets, their illnesses, ailments & injuries, using alternative treatments so they could live with a quality of life! There’s no one like her.
Carol Little
I had the good fortune to meet Sharon in the late 80s. She made a terrific impression from that first moment.
It was a marvel to witness her deep connection with all the animals. I remember our first visit with our wee Tibetan Spaniel, Beaker… the first of many. She taught us so much and we learned lots. We adopted 2 kitty girls from the farm, Florence’s grandkids probably.
It’s so hard to believe that she has left this amazing life.. but she believed in that next chapter, and so do we..
I know that (as has been said) when she crossed that Rainbow bridge, there were many excited souls ready to greet her.
Rest in heavenly peace dear dear Sharon, with much love.

My deepest sympathy to Dr. Sharon’s family and to everyone who was fortunate enough to call Sharon a friend. I have been struggling with how to honour Dr. Sharon with my words as so many of you have spoken so eloquently of your love and admiration for Sharon and your personal journeys that you have shared with Dr. Sharon and your beloved pets. I also feel that the best way to honour Dr. Sharon’s memory is to continue to make use of all of the knowledge that she so graciously shared with us, and to try to help others on their healing journeys with their loved ones to the best of our abilities. Sharon’s love and compassion, her knowledge and wisdom, and her ability to connect with our beloved pets, were truly gifts from GOD. Dr. Sharon taught us about HIS true medicine for which I am so grateful! I was introduced to Dr. Sharon when my special boy Buddy was diagnosed with nasal cancer six years ago. With Dr. Sharon guiding our journey, we were able to spend another five amazing years with Buddy before he passed last March. Dr. Sharon welcomed our Levi into her fold last May. We feel so blessed to have known Sharon and we will truly miss having her in our lives taking care of beloved pets, which ultimately means, taking care of us. Sharon, you will always live on in our hearts and I will never forget our prayers that He answered through you.

Our condolences to family and friends of Sharon. We thought the world of her. She followed her beliefs in a field that was not very open. She helped us with both our our dogs after other vets gave us misinformation & also helped us with our cat.
We are still in disbelief that she is gone as she was so full of life & spunk. Having a vet appointment with Sharon also felt like visiting a friend. We are so grateful for all of her expertise, assistance & caring ❤️

Sharon, from the first day we met I knew you were a special healer. That has been reinforced a multitude of times not just with my pets but with everyone who brings you their most cherished animal friends. Thank you Sharon for your kindness, love, insight, compassion, dedication and your brilliance. As I know you are aware, Maggie is still hanging on with a good quality of life thanks wholly to you. Your wisdom has been passed down to our animals and we can only hope that as humans we listen to our animals and have listened to you. We are all thankful that you came into our lives and made our lives better. Miss you so much…can’t imagine the loss your family is feeling.
Michael, thank you for being so kind in returning emails when your mom got sick…
Sending love to all of your family.

Many hearts are aching from the loss of such a beautiful person who inspired hope and gave comfort to all who needed her. We are forever grateful to have had Sharon share in our lives. We will cherish the memories and Love, Always, Lisa, Kent, Lauren, Bear, Beau, Dudley
I want to share a Native American Prayer that helped me heal from the loss of my Grandfather many years ago.
I give you this one thought to keep –
I am with you still – I do not sleep .
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still – in each new dawn.

Sharon, you will be sorely missed by me, and by so many. There is no other like you. You were not just a veterinarian; you were blessed with a gift; a sixth sense for healing. Not just a dog or a cat or a horse whisperer, but a whisper of all animals. You came to us thru a friend; your reputation a given. And you helped us thru difficult times with Millie, our sweet girl, who forever stole our hearts; as you have. You will be remembered fondly. Your journey here is done, bu it will only continue in spirit. RIP. Love & hugs, Mona & Dan

To the family: We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom has left this world a far better place.
Blessings and healing in your time of grief.
Forty or fifty years from now, she will probably receive honours for her pioneering work in holistic veterinary medicine. It takes a while for enlightenment to remove tunnel vision and allow people to acknowledge the errors in their thinking.
Sharon spoke our language and we enjoyed honest, feisty, compassionate discussions with her.
Like her we believe there is always more to learn if you are willing to open doors.
Her life work is a wonderful example of the miracles that can happen when you do just that.
Jane Woolsey
Dr. Sharon, you have left your legacy in the animal world that no one can come close to matching. Thank you, for all your wisdom and compassion. You have made all of us better people for knowing you and perhaps a little wiser. We, and are our animals, (mine was the singing blond bouvier, Hudson who made Sharon laugh so hard every time he sang) are so blessed to have had you in our circle. Until we meet again, safe travels Dr. Sharon.
My condolences to all of her family and friends, such a large community she had!

My deepest condolences to all of Sharon’s family. As you well know Sharon helped so many animals and people in her life. She taught so many of us better ways of caring for our animals and how to understand them better. She was a pioneer for sure.
She was a great teacher and her departure will be a huge loss for all of us. When I told a friend of mine today about Sharon’s passing her reaction was that Sharon will have so many furry friends with her in heaven. Her dog was going to be the first in line.
Thank you Sharon. Rest In Peace

I’ve always wondered if their is an animal heaven! If so, I really think that the Amazing, Brilliant, Observant and Straight shooting Sharon would be the very happiest to be there, so I will believe there is!
To family and close friends – You were blessed to have her in your life and I send my sincere condolences to you! I will miss her, so know that your loss is multiplied. I bet she will live on in some of you – and I hope so. All the best to you in dealing with your loss and processing your grief.

Very sad to hear of Sharon’s passing. I have known her for over 25 years. She is the reason I started learning about natural and alternative methods for caring for my animals and myself. She has always helped me over the years, offering me advice over the phone and in weekends etc. She was a very educated lady. Because of her I treat my pets and livestock holistically . I will miss her help and wisdom . One of a kind person who did wonders for our furry friends. Safe travels Sharon

I am so greatful for my two golden retrievers that Dr. Sharon Kopinak saved and many others I sent to her. Other vets gave them very little time to live by Dr. Kopinak extended their lives to the fullest. She had a gentle soul and my dogs loved her. I know my dogs are waiting for her at the gates along with hundreds of animals she cared for and loved. I am just greatful I knew such an amazing woman and she will be sadly missed. Keeping her family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

Sharon touched my life in a profound way. She was a true pioneer who fought for the rights of our best friends and brought us along for the ride. She educated and informed. Did not suffer fools but had a heart of gold, and if you heeded her advice you walked away in awe and with the ability to promote change.
I’m sure she is surrounded by a multitude of four legged furry friends. I hope my Tess was there to greet her.
My sincere condolences to the family of this remarkable woman.

My dog Lola turned 10 in May of this year. When she was 1 year old, traditional vets told me she wouldn’t survive another year. I took her to Sharon and she saved her, not just once, but again 5 years later. I always looked forward to visiting the farm and Lola did too. Lola had a lot of complicated health issues and Sharon used to say “Lola doesn’t read the same books as everyone else.” I learned so much from her over the years. I’m very sad to hear the news of her passing. There will never be another Sharon. I feel blessed to have known her.
Dr. Linda Pallett
It was a great pleasure to have met Sharon over 50 years ago when we both arrived at OVC. Needless to say, we
were in the minority, being only one of 7 women but she always had a smile on her face, and took the challenge in
her stride. She gave her life to all the animals, no matter the species, nor mankind.
You are a shining star in our profession. Rest in peace/

Sharron was a valuable member of the holistic healing community. Through her loving care of our animals we learned more about holistic pet care than anywhere else. She will be missed.

So many beautiful words for a beautiful and kind soul. I will never forget my first visit to the farm over 25 years ago. Sharon was a gift to this world, a bright light, a great spirit and a true healer. She will be so missed by so many. Infinite peace to you my friend. My deepest sympathies to Michael, Lisa and family.

I am so incredibly saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. It has been many years since I last saw her. I will never forget the care, compassion, and empathy she showed to my very ill animals. They adored her and so did I. Sharon always took the time to explain her treatment plan and the pros and cons of other options available, including conventional treatment. On a personal level, what I remember most is her quiet confidence and staunch advocacy for all animals. She was truly an incredible human and will be forever missed for her contribution to so many lives, both animal and human. Rest in peace Dr. Sharon.

So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I only had the opportunity to meet with her once, but she changed my dog’s life. Such a remarkable woman and experience. We will miss her very much!

Very very sad to hear of Sharon’s passing. Big loss to the vet/health care communities. Just hearing about it now, so sorry for missing her memorial. Sharon had something special. A something you cannot train or teach, a something in her heart. She questioned everything that did not seem right and never backed down to the pressure of government or the “big boys”.
She was my “go to” and now look at all these condolences – where do we all now go to.
So blessed to have met, known and had Sharon in my life and in my Eddy’s life (yellow lab)
Condolences to all family and friends.

I just found out today that we have lost our Sharon and I can’t believe this…. I don’t remember when I first met Sharon, but she began helping me with my little Jersey, my crazy hiking dog. The first thing that Sharon stressed to me was the value of homemade dog food. Between this and home made dog cookies, Jersey ate better than I did. Through the many years that Sharon provided her services for Jersey, I would worry about the day that the world would lose her and the huge void she would leave. She helped give Jersey 17 years on earth with me, but Jersey’s last year was extremely emotional. Sharon not only helped with Jersey, but she helped me deal with everything that was going on. After any of our visits with Sharon, a hike at Scottsdale Farm was always on the agenda for Jersey and I. In the past few years of Jersey’s life, we quite often went to see Sharon, armed with a Tim’s Ham and Cheese sandwich with extra, extra, extra mustard. After I lost Jersey, it was difficult for me to go back to Sharon’s, but when I was ready, I did. Sharon’s continued to help me with my healing. I am glad that I went several times to see her, each time with a Tim’s sandwich, and always with a hug and thanks for everything that she had done for Jersey and I.
I can’t imagine the pain her family, including her horses, her dogs and Thessalon, her parrot are going through. My deepest condolences. Sharon, I love the kind, even keeled and calm person you are. I’m sure you were greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by the many dogs and cats you have helped and of course, Jersey.
Jim Paisiovich
You impacted my life… you changed the way I look at everything. Your ability to communicate with my Akita “Puzzle” changed everything. You were the one person who fulfilled everything I always believed in animals. I’m crushed… number no longer in service to a number that I guess we always assumed had that beautiful and quiet voice and funny laugh. I was planning to visit tomorrow only to get a lump in my throat and tears to my eyes as I googled your name preying I wouldn’t see this. I don’t know what to say or feel right now. I remember coming out once of many times of course to pick up meds and you were not home yet. I sat quietly awaiting your arrival. A bird from the main road came a screaming, the birds filled the trees, all the animals came running to the house…. I could think was “wow” every bird, horse, cat, dog, chicken…. and every other animal out there were connected and knew Sharon was on her way home. You my dear have changed the way everyone under your care or friends with you look at life and the animal kingdom as a whole. I’ve now got cancer so if your reading all of these pour the wine because I’ll be along shortly. Cheers to you for now.
Andrea
I am so saddened to learn about Dr. Sharon’s passing. She saved the life of my cat Bella and treated my growly little dog Sophie with so much kindness, patience, and understanding. I am so grateful for the years of taking my furry family to her. Her approach to veterinary care is one I will never forget and she’ll always be in my heart.

Dear beloved Dr. Sharon,
I am deeply saddened by the news of your passing. You have been the most amazing and cherished support in my life and the lives of all of my animals and countless others. There are no words to truly express who you were as a human being, a Doctor of Veternary, a teacher, a mentor and a Soul. If it were not for your guidance and expertise with medical and holistic practices I would have been lost and so would my animals. You were a gift to any person or animal who had the privilege of knowing you. I Love You and so does Sweetey, Bunny, Spalding and One Friend.
Rest well and Thank-you.
So Much Love and Many Blessings:
Lauren

Dear Sharon, we were just organizing some of the harvest from The Farm to come give you as we usually do about this time of year. The garlic,, onions, beans, herbs, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers all picked, dug and ready to go along with the traditional chicken. We are in shock and our hearts are broken as we learned just today of your passing to the other side of the rainbow. Thank you Sharon for you wisdom, patience. love and support over the last 30 years. Not sure what to do without you around. You supported us through 8 pet goats, many border collies and even our barn cats with all their needs. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Safe passage to the other side of the rainbow Sharon.

My deepest condolences to Sharon’s family and everyone who knew her. I am so sorry for your loss from the bottom of my heart. When I found out this news, my heart sank. I remember the reason I first started going to her with my little boy Jasper was because of how incredible she was to her patients and how knowledgeable she was. People around here called her the legend. I remember the first time I met her , I was so overjoyed. I told everyone about her! It felt like a whole new world with multiple doorways were opening up to possibilities when it came to medicine and the world around you. Jasper had gone through multiple vets and multiple misdiagnosis, he was so scared to go anywhere else. When he met Sharon and almost every time after that, he never shook or was scared. He would actually start walking around with his tongue out when he would go see Sharon! She would always say it was because it was ”a safe place here.” She nursed him back to health and when she did, I remember her saying, ”look at the spunk you have now, it’s good!” She has touched so many lives in so many ways. She has made me look at the world in a different way and I hope one day I can help animals as she has. She was and still is an inspiration to me. Rest in Peace Sharon. We will all miss you and you will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts. I pray to God Sharon is with God and all the animals in heaven.

I was shocked to read the memorial for Sharon. We have lost an amazing veterinarian who was in tune with the animals and land, and using herbs that God has provided for us to treat and rebalance animals. Sharon was a strong , intelligent woman who stood up for animals. I learned so much sitting in the living room watching her touch each animal and talk with owners. She diagnosed one of my dogs when 3 other vets had no idea what was going on. She was intuitive , sensitive , and loving. There is a huge void in holistic veterinary medicine with Sharon’s passing . I will miss her tremendously , I have cried knowing she has left us and that her clinic has closed. I know that her family, friends and all her animals will be at a loss for a long time. My sincere condolences to her family, friends and pets. What will we do without her?

I recently returned from a trip out of the country and was shocked and saddened to hear Dr. Sharon had passed. Words can never express what her loss meant to me. I knew she had been sick for some time but had every faith that she was tough enough to get well again, as she had so often before. I actually had an appointment with her to see me and my dog when she felt strong enough to see us when she returned to practice. That visit will never happen.
I am humbled to call Dr. Sharon my friend as well my veterinarian. Her knowledge, experience and instincts kept all my adopted, old, sick malamutes more comfortable and content in their last years or months on this earth before they went to the Rainbow Bridge. I know Dr. Sharon is with them now and is now surrounded by grateful animals she helped throughout her life.
Dr. Sharon was a spiritual soul who healed all nature that was near her presence. She was a humble person who took no credit for her successes and fame. She fought valiantly against injustice to herself and others.
To her family, may they know that Dr. Sharon was loved, admired and respected by a diverse and widespread following of experts, clients and friends.
May you rest in peace my dear Dr. Sharon. I shall miss your presence forever and hope that I, too, will meet you again.

Words cannot express the shock, dismay and sorrow I feel having just learned of Sharon’s passing. I have known Sharon since 1989. I had a beloved mare who was constantly lame with a diagnosis of Navicular Disease. I took the mare to the veterinary college and was prescribed an extremely costly drug which had to be imported from England. It did not work. I was told that I should put my mare out to pasture….. I was introduced to Sharon. I can still see her walking towards me, her long dark hair flowing and her lovely eyes smiling. And she told me that my mare would be OK. She WAS. We went on to compete in eventing without any lameness for the rest of her life. As all the previous posts say, Sharon was absolutely unique on every level. She helped me with so many of my fur babies and taught me more than I can say. We left Ontario 13 years ago and and I wept because I was leaving Sharon behind. I did not know how I would manage without her close by. It has not been easy, but all that she taught me has stood me in good stead. She has been on my mind so much for the past month and this evening I felt the urge to call her; this news of her passing is a shock. She is the kindest, gentlest, wisest and most knowledgeable person I have ever known. It was an honour and privilege to have had her in our lives – mine and the lives of the numerous critters she cared for – over the years. My sincere condolences to Michael and his family and to all who will miss her dearly.

I was shocked to discover Sharons passing. I was introduced to her nearly 20 yrs ago and have always gone to her for the “tough stuff”… Her insight and compassion for animals was phenomenal as well as her common sense. I always enjoyed my visits, even if it was only to restock my herbal tinctures for my Harry… No doubt she’s with Harry as I write this. I’ll certainly miss her ….

Mike I am very saddened to hear about your mother. I cared for her very much. She told me she was a gramma. That was nice to hear. We just heard. Take care Mike. Shawn would love to hear from you. I still remember how she walked to our home in a snow storm to stitch my horse’s eyelid.

I cannot believe what I’ve just read. I did not know. I will miss you Sharon, but I know you’re in the best of company. I know there were many many souls there that were waiting to greet you, with boundless love, including Mick, Sage and Mariah.
I will never forget all the things you taught me, and I look forward to when we meet again.
Much love to you, and to all those like me who mourn your passing.

It was with great shock and sorrow that just yesterday we learned of Sharon’s passing. It’s difficult to find the words to express the sorrow and loss that I feel – for myself, my fur babies and for all those who have come to depend on Sharon’s amazing, natural abilities. Our trips to see “Dr. Sharon” became a favourite outing; spending time petting her beautiful horses, taking in the picturesque surroundings of her farm, and meeting all the pets and owners who depended on her so. She was such a special person. Within minutes she won the heart of my beloved (now deceased) Winnie, when few others ever could, and she helped me to make the hardest decision I’ve ever had to face when it was time to say goodbye. We will never forget her. To her family, I hope you know how many people and animals she touched, and how she left an indelible mark of kindness and compassion on this earth. My deepest sympathy to you on this incredible loss. May you find peace in knowing how much she was truly loved by so many.

I only just now recommended her to a friend and found this sad obituary. There will never be a more remarkable meeting for me than ten years ago when I was in awe of her profound knowledge and kindness. To her family my heartfelt condolences.

What we have lost, Heaven’s Fur Souls have gained. What a magical welcome she must have had … including from our dear Hudson to whom Dr Sharon gave 8 beautiful years of life and living.
May those who mentored under this wise woman go forth to share as much of her deep knowledge as possible.
Condolences to family, friends and all those who crossed her epic and brave path. Tanya, Darren, Hudson, Harley and Denver.

My sincere condolences to Sharon’s family. She was a shining star in a class of male students, who shone amongst
the six women—-always a bright small and the strength to meet the challenge of the five years ahead—–and she
did it well. I was so happy to have a short visit with her at our 50th year class reunion; still working so hard with
her first love–the animals. You are missed my friend and colleague.

I only found out about Dr Sharon’ s passing today, November. I’m so saddened by this news. Dr Kopinak was one of a kind, a loving, warm, caring being who extended these qualities to animal and human friends. I’m grateful to have known her and to have had her for my vet for many years. I still have one cat, Mandy (18.5 years old) that was born on her farm! I will forever remember Dr. Kopinak. May she Rest In Peace and be embraced in love always. My most sincere condolences to her family.

I just heard this devastating news. I moved back to Montreal a few years ago and my beloved dog Koby had already passed.
I ‘discovered’ Sharon through serendipity when every Veterinarian in SW Ontario failed my girl Kudra. I was told nothing could be done,, but I wouldn’t give up and found the only other person who wouldn’t either. She saved my girl’s life.
I’ve sent several people to her over the years, all with the same miraculous results.
When I eventually adopted my boy, Koby, I only had to see her a couple of times because I implemented everything I learned from Sharon to care for him, he lived for 16 happy, healthy years and died of old age.
I will be forever grateful for having known her, she graced my life immeasurably.
I loved her acerbic wit, no nonsense advice and the fact that she named her rooster ’Chicken’ or was it her chicken named ’Rooster?’ I don’t remember, but I will never forget her. How can you forget someone who was struck by lightning not once, but twice?
I send her loved ones all the love and light in the world.
I am truly brokenhearted.

I am heartbroken to find out only now of Sharon’s passing. Her compassion for all creatures great and small was unsurpassed. My introduction to her as a vet resulted in her saving my Emma’s life. She gave me 5 more wonderful years with her and it was nothing short of a miracle when conventional medicine said no hope; but under Sharon’s care she was like a puppy again. The “specialists” were astounded how she recovered and were amazed. She was a truly gifted Woman and this world is a much sadder place without her. Sharon is now running with many angels by her side and I will never forget her. I know my Emma is probably with her until we meet again. My heart goes out to her family and I am so so sorry.

Sharon was the kindest, caring, strongest, compassionate, intuitive, brilliant, smart, laid back, care-free, witty, down to earth, passionate, and didn’t care what others thought of her. I just found out this week Feb 1st that she passed, from a student in my yoga class, it brought tears and a heavy heart. What a remarkable human being. Michael, I cannot even imagine what you are going thru at the loss of your mother. I met Sharon about 28 years ago with my yellow Lab Sox, who she saved from seizures and lived to 13 years old. He passed away in the back of my car in the parking lot at the farm, on a warm summers day. I’ll never forget it as I asked Sharon will my Sox poop all over me when you euthanize him? She said no not right away you’ll be okay. As the tears are rolling down my face as well as Sharon’s as Sox passes away, I suddenly realize that I have poop all over me, as the tears are rolling down my face and with a heavy heart of great loss. We had a little giggle though.
When I was ready to get another dog (about 2-3 years after Sox’s passing) I went right up to see Sharon at the farm to get her advise on what kind of breed would be good for me. The conclusion was an English Mastiff, and that is when Samantha came into my life and Sharon’s. She helps Sammi and I so much, as Sammi was diagnosed with Lyme disease at about 6-7 years old, but Sharon helped me save her and prolong her life. Sammi lived until she was 10 years old, she passed away on March 29th, 2018. When I returned from Cambodia, after being there for 18 months, I wanted to go up to see Sharon to tell her about all of the work I was doing for animals in Cambodia as I know she would like to hear that. But timing did not work out, so now its talking to her spirit.
She was 1 in a million for sure and I’ll cherish my time I spent up at the farm for our session that would be hours but how I looked forward to them and seeing Sharon. She is and was an ANGEL.
Rest In Peace beautiful soul.
Condolences to Michael and the family.

Dr. Sharon was an amazing person. When I met her for the first time I could feel that she was doing her job because she loved animals. The way she touched my dog I felt something..she was a very honest person. I lost my Rocky a yorkie 5 years ago and now that I have a new yorkie I was looking forward to visit her I realized that she is gone. RIP Dr. Sharon.

She was a true gem. It was my privilege to cross her path, once as a youth when she saved our family dog (who was written off by everyone else in the medical community) then 20+ years later with our cats. A very special person indeed, so dedicated and pure of heart. Be at peace.

Dr. Sharon to us is an always will be a Very Beautiful Person, I came to know over a period of 15 years,
When any animal came to Dr. Sharon home to get help for their health issue they always came in happy because they knew Dr. Sharon would heal them.
Both my English bulldogs Abby and Angel we’re blessed to have had Dr Sharon as their veterinarian, if you could’ve have only experenced what thousands of people across North America experienced from the natural ways she taught us all in healing not just the animals but also ourselves it would blow your mind. DR. Sharon Kopinak will be Very Very Sorely missed.
To Dr. Shames family please except our deepest condolences, Dr Sharon Kopinak was like a Mother to me.

My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Sharon Kopinak. My fur babies Tasha and Jesse were so blessed to have discovered an Angel. She truly was a remarkable human being. If only there could be more like her on this planet. Never forgotten. Love always.❤

I am sending my condolences to the family of Dr Sharon Kopinak. She was a compassionate person and a wonderful vet. She helped give my first dog the additional time that I required to say goodbye knowing I was not causing it additional suffering.
Annette
What an amazing woman. So kind-hearted and a wonderful soul. She was always there. When she met a patient, she would get down on her knees and speak to them first. I wish I had a doctor like her!
Will miss you forever!

I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. ‘All good things come to an end’. She was the best. I took my small dog to her several times and she just had a magic touch. Would the family get in touch with me as I wonder what happened to her farm and horses and cats. Thanks in advance.
