As a kid, my dad used to send me to work with Earle because he’d keep me safe and out of mischief for the day. Those were in the old Treeland Nursery years. I’ve lots of fond memories of Earle in and around Nobleton from when I was growing up. Always interested in how you were and what you were up to, always willing to lend a hand, always looking out for the other person.
Earle enriched the lives of all he came into contact with, he was a good man and he will be sadly missed. My deepest, sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I have many good memories of Earl. He was a good friend of my brother Jim, a neighbour when he lived on Highway 27, a fellow curler and a devoted member of the Lion’s Club. But what I remember most is his infectious laugh. Once he started to laugh everyone around him was drawn into the mood of levity. Earl was one of the “Nobleton nobility”. In so many ways in 1960’s 1970’s and 1980’s he contributed to the sense of community that made Nobleton a special to live. He will be missed.
Valerie, Kim, Holly and Melody, I am sorry for your loss.

Heaven has gained one incredible angel! Farewell Earle.

Dear Val, Kim, Holly, & Melody:
To know Earle was to love him. His boyish, mischievous smile was one of a kind. We have so many fun memories of our times together in Nobleton and at Lions’ functions, at their cottage, and building Nobleton’s first baseball diamond. The years parted us, but we did share coffee together at Tim’s not too long ago and we found him to be just as we remembered him – a happy, fun loving guy. We are so sad.
Love,
Mike and Sherrie
Muriel (DALZIEL) SMITH
On behalf of myself & my mother Mary DALZIEL, I wish to express our deepest sympathies to your family.
The last time I saw Earle was at my father’s funeral. I had not seen him in many years and he was rather amused that I remembered him without having to be prompted. His kindness to our family while we lived in Nobleton made him memorable to us. He will truly be missed by our family.

We are truly sorry to hear of Earle’s passing, will miss seeing him around the time of the Lion’s draw in Nobleton, he would always stop at the house to sell us a ticket, but more importantly, to catch up with us on the past year.
