Wolf Family
Elmars will always be remembered as one of the true pioneers of the Go Lake Family, “Those were the days!” we often say, simple, no, the escape into nature made it worthwhile to overcome the challenges and hardships, he built a cottage without hydro, nothing held him back, he was the first to water on snow skiis, “By Jimminy”, he was often seen driving around in his switzer craft boat, a boat much to small for a man his size, he was a mountain of a man who was willing to share his endless stories and we always enjoyed listening. He will be missed.
Our sincere condolences to the family.
Kerrie Berkis Bolton
Elmars was a close and cherished friend of my late parents Oley and Ilene Berkis. When I was a little girl Elmars met Eleanor and I was delighted to be asked to be a Junior Bridesmaid in their wedding. Elmars was fondly regarded as a “gentle giant” that loved hunting, fishing, boating, the harmonica and most of all, his wife and children. He spent endless hours working on his cottage and would never turn down a friend in need. His heart was as big as his person. Our family always knew that Uncle Elmars would be there no matter what we needed….RIP Uncle Elmars
Our thoughts are with you Eleanor, Eriks, Diana and families.
