About 25 years ago, I was in my early twentys, Zio said something that will forever be in my mind. We was achy and tired from a long weeks work. We were watching TV in his den and he let out “Ah, Dio Dio Dio.” I asked him why the heavy sigh?
“Getting old” he said with a smile. I’m not really sure why, but I asked him ” What’s the worst part of growing old?” He thought about it for a short moment, and again with a smile, almost like he was letting me in on a little secret, he offered “The body ages but the spirit doesn’t… my mind likes to do what my body doesn’t.” His spirit was going just as strong when I saw him a short time ago. God bless Zio

My dear Zio,
I’ve lost the best dancing partner in the world and now I’m going to have to teach my husband how to dance. In your honour, I would like to change the words to the Luther Vandross song ‘Dancing with my Father’ to ‘Dancing with my Zio.’ I will always cherish our dances, especially on my wedding day. I will always love you and miss you. Rest in peace.
If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love to dance with my Zio again
Love Lisa
