Peacefully, after courageously battling many health issues for the last several years, at Brampton Civic Hospital on Tuesday, April, 23rd, 2024, Gail Proulx of Bolton, in her 83rd year, beloved wife of the late Douglas Proulx (January 2023). Cherished mother of Keith and his wife Tina Proulx, Wayne and his wife Yuleen Proulx. Proud grandmother of Dylan, Karson, Addyson, Ashley and Tyler Proulx.
Gail was born in Toronto, on September 19th, 1941 to William and Katherine Smith. Gail shared a close bond to her much loved older sister Joan. Gail enjoyed gardening, knitting and loved spending time with friends and family. Her greatest passion, however, was sharing time with her sons and her grandchildren. Gail is now at peace as she joins the love of her life, her beloved Doug.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brampton Civic Hospital, Dr. Olupitan and Suzanne, Anne and the PSW’s from Caledon Community Services, and Gail’s nurse Jennifer, for the compassionate care she received in her final years.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Saturday, May 4th from 2-4 o’clock for a memorial reception.

We all have such wonderful memories of Gail. She was a part of our family and we loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with her and Doug. We have such great memories of her. You could never say goodbye without getting a big hug and a “love you.” She was like a grandma to Emma and Brady. We love her and will miss her so much.

Keith, Wayne and families. Sending you our deepest condolences at this time. Your mom was such a kind, soft spoken woman who I remember fondly from back in the day growing up on Castlederg.
May you find the comfort soon knowing she’s at peace now and reunited with your dad.
