With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our wonderful mom, grandma and great-grandma who passed away at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Rudy (2001), she leaves behind her two daughters: Ursula and Peter Dittmar, Walli and Bob Young, and son Joe and Candy Montag. Cherished grandma to Wendy, Debbie, Robby, Mirtha, Scott, Jaime, Sarah, Martin, Amy, Dan, Danielle and Christian; and great-grandma to Tiana, Keegan, Ava, Lucy, Nathan, Abby, Kaden and Raine. Trudy was born in Germany (Borkum) and will be missed by family and friends overseas. Family was of paramount importance to Trudy and she was the respected matriarch. For her family, she was a counsellor, a friend, a mentor, an anchor and a hero. She was not only the family’s foundation but she was its framework, its bricks and cement. She was always there when needed without exception. Friends were always welcomed with a cup of tea and good conversation. Many thanks to the fantastic staff at Bethell Hospice for their compassion and dedication to helping mom.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Friday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 10 at 1:30 o’clock.
Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens, Etobicoke.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethell Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
