It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Irene Atchison-Preet announce her passing on Thursday May 9, 2024 on her 67th birthday after a long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Peter Preet. Dear mother to Jason, Jamie, Lori (Keith) and Dawna (Rick). Loving grandma to Liam, Lincoln, Madison, Mackenzie, Nyla, Kaylyn, Shane, Justin and Tyson. Gloria’s love and laughter filled our lives with joy. She touched so many through her warm smile, kind heart and genuine care for others. She loved people and talked to everyone, everywhere she went. She especially loved her family and enjoyed time spent together. She loved travelling, gardening, doing puzzles, playing scrabble and taking her challenger for a spin. She loved animals, her cat “bear” and had treats for all the neighbourhood dogs. She took great pride in working hard and never stopped, she was always doing something. Her strength and determination inspired all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and she will be forever cherished and loved.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905 857-2213) on Tuesday evening, May 21 from 6 – 8 o’clock. Cremation has taken place.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or potted plants in lieu of flowers.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

My sincerest condolences go out to the Atchison-Preet family, to her beloved children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters. I met Gloria when I was 18 years old. Gloria was a firecracker who always had fun and made things more fun. Her laughter was infectious and contagious! I reflect on the many times we played SCAT around a holiday dinner table. My heart breaks for all who love her. I know her presence will be sorely missed. I pray that God gives you all the strength to cope during these difficult times.
“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love”. Lamentations 3:31-32

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I worked with Gloria for many years , both at the Long Mississauga location and Dana Oakville. There are only a handful of people that you meet in life that could make you smile every time you speak to them and Gloria was definitely one of them. She always was so positive and thought of everyone else above herself. She will be missed but thought of often.
