Born March 15th, 1924, died suddenly on Saturday, October 9th, 2010 while at home, 39 Humber Trail, Bolton, Ontario. Wife for 71 years to Elwood Medley Dore, Helen leaves behind a loving husband and family. Helen is survived by her children, Dave and his wife Aili Dore, British Columbia; Mildred Fagan, Cambridge, Ontario; Wayne Dore, Saskatchewan; Gwen and her husband Robert James Ward, Bolton, Ontario; and Carol Ouellette, Florida. Helen treasured being grandmother to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Helen was born in Framingham, Massachusetts and was raised in Southampton, New Brunswick, where she met, and fell in love with Elwood. Each summer Helen would return to New Brunswick with Elwood, where they spent as much time as possible with the friends and family that brought such joy to them. With Elwood being the brother to 10 siblings, the family extends to a large circle of cherished relatives. According to her wishes, Helen will be cremated.
The family will receive their family and friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy 50), Bolton (1-800-853-1977) on Thursday evening October 14 from 7 -9 o’clock.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 15 at 2 o’clock.
Having worked at a flower shop for a time, Helen adored flowers and we know she would welcome them from her loved ones and friends. Many pets have filled Helen’s life with happiness over the years, and donations to your local shelter would also be a kind gesture, or you may make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

We don’t get home much but have always enjoyed getting together with the aunts and uncles and cousins. I still have a photo of Helen and Elwood taken at Betty & Donnie’s several years ago that I printed to give to Carol when I touched base with her here in Florida (which I haven’t done yet! – but will!)
