Hendrik Mellegers

(March 25, 1923 – October 4, 2009)

            It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henk peacefully at home, beloved husband of Elisabeth for 59 years.  Much loved father of Ellie and Jan Lilhein, Jacob Mellegers, Tony and Ileen Mellegers, and Andy Mellegers.  Proud grandfather of Lisa, Cia, Amanda and Connor and great-grandfather of Hudson.  Will be deeply missed by brothers Jim and Ina Mellegers, Cor and Nel Mellegers, Sisters Joan and Mike Havinga, Nel and Art Korpel, Dickie Young and predeceased by brothers Tony and Peter.  Henk and Betty emigrated from the Netherlands to the Bolton area in 1964 where they owned and operated Albion Game Farm raising pheasants and other game birds until their retirement in 2005.  The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Wednesday evening 7-9 o’clock.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning, October 8 at 11 o’clock.  Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bolton.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Condolences for the family may be offered at www.eganfuneralhome.com
