Heartfelt thoughts go out to the family & friends in this time of sorrow. My deepest sympathies for your loss.
Stephen Ritchie
Ian always seemed thoughtful and considerate to me. I always enjoyed what he called “Guys Weekends”. We’d have fun opening up the cottage in Renfrew, or just when he’d visit for the weekend in St. Catharines, where we’d enjoy his sushi cooking. I especially liked his teriyaki beef. He was the consummate father to Piers and Tamara. I had always hoped to one day have another Guys Weekend. (Opportunity lost.) He will be missed but not forgotten.
Farewell my friend,
Stephen Ritchie

Our hearts are so saddened by the news. Both Michael and I worked closely with Ian for 20+ years. We both remember all his stories about family, pets and sushi! I never did get a chance to taste his home made sushi. We both worked with him at Teknion and I also worked with him when I was at the dealer, he was my PM. He was always there to add his suggestions and help with any project. We had some great conversations about family and how they are so important. He has left a huge gap and will be greatly missed.
Carol & Art Hilder and family
Dear Andrea, Piers and Tamara……so saddened to hear of the passing of your dear husband and father. We fondly remember our years on Mellow Crescent and all the help and companionship we had with our neighbours “The Kuznick”. Andrea, you and Ian always had an open door for Rachel and she loved spending time with you all and the various furry members of the family. Rest in peace Ian.
Doug Mcmahon
My condolences to the entire family. A great guy who will be missed.
Don Ritchie (brother-in-law)
I reflect fondly on my time and conversations with Ian about so many topics – skiing, baseball, wood working, project management, and canine training to name a few. I enjoyed these moments and admired Ian’s attention to detail and uncompromising commitment to perfection (albeit spousal abuse when perfection is not the goal). It was a long time ago, but I will always be great-full for his help furnishing my fledgling business.
Despite his decade long fight with cancer, he was taken too soon and I will miss him.
My condolences and all my love to my sister, niece and my gifted car mechanic (my nephew).
Scott Gallop
To Andrea & family, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of playing baseball with Ian for many years and of course appreciated the help when my Mom passed.

To all of our “cottage cousins”. How well I remember meeting our wonderful cottage neighbours my first time at Hurd’s Lake. Invited for supper I promptly spilled my fish chowder on Ian. Always friendly, always helpful and always caring would describe any of the family. As we now become the “older” crowd at the lake, memories become more and more cherished and special. Our love goes to all of at this time of loss. Ian will be missed

Such a huge loss for our cottage family.
Growing up with Karl and Ian every summer at the cottage was an educational experience. I learned so much about frogs and snakes and fish:) They were the cottage fishing champions. Bonfires, cards, swimming. And never forget the dance lessons Mrs. Irene gave us. We had the time of our lives.
As well, they were both impressive divers and water skiers.
My sincere sympathy to Ian’s wife and children and Andy and Karl Kuznick.
So many fond memories and very sad not to be able to meet again at the lake.
Dr Richard Ehrlich
We were so sorry to hear of Ian’s passing. We have shared many good and difficult times with him at our clinic, and had many great talks about his various interests. I loved learning about things as diverse as Japanese cooking knives, guitars and the intricacies of cottage bylaws. He was a great, funny, smart, brave man who we all lost far too soon.
From all the staff at the Elm Tree Clinic.
Terry Holland
I am deeply saddened to hear of Ian’s passing. I was lucky to be Ian’s supervisor for a few years and I always knew that when he was the project manager on the account that I had no worries regardless of where the project was across Canada. I was privileged to write his business reference for his MBA and it was a joy to recommend him strongly. This is very sad news and many people will not only remember him fondly but also respect the high professionalism of his work. He left us too soon.
Samantha Wong

Dear Andrea: I am so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.
Tara
Our family is incredibly sad to loose an amazing uncle to our children Hanna, Jack and Sara and brother in law to Jeff and myself. Ian would often send me an email, or quick text to inquire about each of our children’s deep interests in swimming, baseball and dance (when he couldn’t come in person). He loved skiing with us and family on the slopes of Alpine; Ian and the Kuznick family were the reason we joined Alpine. Jack has fond memories of fishing with Ian at the Kuznick cottage and getting the “big catch!”Personally, I looked forward to being seated at the dinner table at Christmas and other special family occasions with Ian; our conversations were always effortless and meaningful and not post dinner rushed. Thank you for being so real and always offering enthusiastic, yet gentle perspective during our conversations over the years – even when you were experiencing physically gruelling treatments.
You will be missed at our family’s dinner table.
Deborah Browne
I was very saddened to hear about the loss of Ian from my dear lifelong friend Gord of over 40 years. My condolences & sympathy to his wife, children and family, friends and colleagues. What a huge loss. I started working with Ian back in 1996. Ian helped me so many times with various specials and unique situations that we were creating in all the showrooms across the country prior to his project management days. I had the pleasure of working with Ian for 13 years. Can still hear his voice in my head. There was always such professionalism and consideration in his work plus his laughter that lightened up any challenges along the way. Simply unforgettable. Gone way too soon. Blessings dear Ian.
