When I was 10 Mr. and Mrs. VV were the young couple that lived across the road, several houses down, on Clearbrooke Circle. Mr. VV became my hero, who I saw as the gentle genius in electronics for his aviation job, when he accommodated me with his special voltmeter to test a part for a tube radio that I hoped to get working for in my bedroom. Oh, how I admired this instrument on his shelf above his workbench, and Mr. VV’s knowledge to set those knobs just right – one of my first nudges towards what ultimately became my career choice as electrical engineer. Some years later I was honoured to babysit their cute little children: Ann, Arthur, Wendy and John. Many occasional encounters in subsequent years, always left me with the impression: a modest, God-fearing, gentleman. I’m thankful to have known him. May God bless you all, as family, in the loss of this unique, special man!

Our condolences to the Van Vuuren family. We have many memories of our times together. Church, young peoples, New Year’s Eve get-togethers. We still picture Mr. VV mowing the lawn in his suit… God’s richest blessings to you all.

Dear Cory and family
We think the last time we spoke was just before Christmas and we all enjoyed our lunch at the Mandarin in June
We were so very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing and offer our heartfelt condolences
I worked with Jack at Garrett Canada and AlliedSignal, he was such a cool, calm, collected individual
I still think of him when I lose my cool
Love Dawn and Keith

I remember Mr.VanVuuren as a polite happy neighbour for many years who kept to his family but would always wave when I would pass by. He also had nice family gatherings with a large extended family and the kids would play basketball, he even had a small flag on his house for the World Cup.
Bless you for all your goodness ,kindness
and enduring humility.
Peace and love to your family.
