October 23, 1938 – April 27, 2017
Jim Reynolds, of King City, gently passed on Thursday, April 27th, 20l7, at Mackenzie Health Care Centre, Richmond Hill. Born in Niagara Falls, Jim enjoyed life with his wife, Betty, daughters, Tara (Stephen) and Janice (Dave) and two adored grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jamie. Predeceased by his parents Clara (Reynolds) Stricker and James Reynolds. Dear brother of the late Shirlee Bonokoski, Colleen Booth, Lorraine Sterling, Rae-anne Reynolds. All branches of his family were very important to Jim. Throughout his life Jim maintained lifelong friendships which he treasured to the day he departed. Cottage life with family and friends at Baptiste Lake was sheer joy for him. His last job at Sciex was a culmination of his, life work experience and talents. That was the job he felt he was made for and loved the hard work, people and achievements. There is much sadness at this time but we take heart in our memories of a life well lived.
The family will receive their friends at All Saints Anglican Church, 12935 Keele Street, King City on Thursday, May 4 from 10 o’clock until time of funeral service at 11 o’clock. Private family interment Grove Cemetery, Dundas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of James Reynolds to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Ralph Gilbert Research Fund, 610 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 2M9 (or phone 416-946-6560; choose option 1). Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganfuneralHome.com

I finally met “Mr. Reynolds” this year at Tara’s ## birthday party, however I felt like I knew him for years from all the
stories I heard from his children about his interesting life & career, the cottage stories, and his amazing strength and resilience these last few years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
God Speed Jim.
Marla Allan
I was so pleased to have the opportunity to meet Jim, Betty and Janice in person at Tara’s birthday party. Jim worked so hard to be part of the evening. The warmth and love the family have for each other is so strong; this sadness too will be met with the Reynolds-style strength and grace.
You are in my heart.
Robyn Gijbels
Tara and Family, my deepest condolences to you for your loss. May the love of friends and family give you strength during this very difficult time.

To you Betty and your wonderful family, I would like to express my sincere condolences. Many years ago I felt privileged to meet Jim and you Betty through Max and Willie Sterling when I was married to their son, Randy.
Jim was one of those souls that you would like to thank God for placing in your path.
God Bless.

I grew up with Jim and Betty on lake Baptiste. They are like my aunt and uncle. I will greatly miss him. I’ll always remember so many things we did growing up at the Reynolds cottage and especially taking my son out last summer with Jim and Betty and my parents on the pontoon boat. Cooper, only 3, and Jim had such a laugh.

I remember spending time at the Reynolds’ house when Tara and I were much younger. I recall Mr. And Mrs. Reynolds sharing a homemade Caesar salad and a bottle of red wine every Friday night. It was very apparent they loved spending time together. My condolences to your family and I hope you can find happiness in your memories of your dad Tara.

We just learned of Jim’s passing and final arrangements. Please accept our sincere condolences. Jim and I were year mates in Science 61 at Queens but not classmates. We got to know him better through Larry and Adrienne Banbury
and many Reunions. Also my relationship (working !) with Rae-anne at Ontario Hydro was a common tie. Jim will be missed by his many Science 61 Friends.

We are sorry to hear of the loss of Jim.
I got my break when I joined Nuclear Chicago (Searle) . The tone for a company is set at the top and I was lucky to enter an environment created by Jim. It may have helped that I was also from Queen’s. I am sure that Jim has indicated how we engineers live through our years at Queen’s. He took the same devil may care attitude while in business. I thank Jim for setting the example for me to follow in starting my own company.
My God bless you in these difficult times.

Jim was a leader, a mentor and above all a people person. He always looked for and exploited the best in people. He had an astute ability to take a perspective on complex situation and to define them in simple and understandable terms on which action could be taken. Always positive, determined, moved forward no matter the headwinds
He was a friend.
My thoughts are with family and friends at this time.
Go in peace.
