Uncle Jimmy was and always will be the story of legends in our family. With his amazing, slicked back memorable hair and formidable presence, to his big comfy cars, he was always the stuff of superheroes or mafia gangsters…you could not quite figure out which, lol! He was just the coolest and wittiest man. I looked up to him and loved when we could all get together. His laugh/giggle was so infectious and he always had a devious sparkle in his eye. His career path was very prestigious and important in our eyes, yet he was the most humble man about it. We will all truly miss the man, the myth, the legend that was Uncle Jimmy. It will be quite the day when we meet again and I look forward to it someday!
My condolences to Aunt Rose, Janet, Shawna, Jason, Dalton, Darcey, Katie and Grady. I know that nothing will fill the hole in your heart that Jim’s passing leaves you. I hope you can find comfort and laughs in the memories of all the good times. I love you all very much.

Rose Marie, Janet, Shawna, Jason & Families,
Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you in this difficult time. No words can express the empty feelings in our hearts. Jim was a loving husband, a devoted father and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. When he talked about his family, his eyes lit up and he always had a big smile on his face. He had a great sense of humour and was able to make you smile without even trying. Jim was an important part of so many lives, he will be greatly missed.
In the difficult days ahead, may you always feel his hand on your shoulder and hear his laugh echo in your hearts.
May memories of Jim give support and comfort in the difficult days ahead.

Rose, I am so sad to get the news of Jimmy’s passing. I can remember back to the days when Jimmy, Garry and Joe would come to Kirkland Lake for the moose hunt. We all knew they had their fingers crossed a moose would never show up. It was always wonderful to see Jimmy and the boys. His smile and that Irish sound in his voice and oh the stories he could tell. Please know that I am thinking of you, and the family at this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are long time Cormac neighbors of the O’Grady family, having known Jim’s mom and dad. We have many fond memories of all of the children as they grew up and eventually moved away to have families of their own.
Like his siblings Jim was a friendly and engaging young man, quick to laugh and seemingly always in good humour.
We send our deepest condolences and will keep you and Jim in our prayers.

Ken and I have a 60 year history with Jim and right from the start we knew what a precious, kind, fun – loving person he was! – a wonderful addition to our Yantha family. He was always so interested in everything we were up to and always ready to lend a helping hand wherever he could. We will miss him so much and are so saddened by his passing but we know it was his time. We rest assured that he is with his maker.
Rose, Janet and Shawna, you did everything possible to make Jim’s last leg of his earthly journey as comfortable, loving, patient and kind as possible – good for you, you got him home!
Dalton, Darcey, Jason, Katie and Grady, you took up the slack at home so Janet and Shawna could help Rose to be there daily to ensure that Jim was well cared for and to feed him every meal when he was no longer able to feed himself. This was all a labour of love! Jim was a kind and caring person , who was so proud of his family and you did not let him down!
Jim was a proud O’Grady and we know that you, his brothers and sisters will miss greatly him and we send our condolences to you all.
On behalf of all of us who loved Jim so much we issue a grateful thank you to you Rose! Your love and care was selfless!
We love you all so much!

Dear Rose Marie, Janet and Shawna,
Nancy and I were so very saddened to hear about the passing of Jim.
We have so many fun memories, of times together with you all … our camping trips are some of my favourite childhood memories.
Take comfort in those memories and in all the outpouring of Love from all who Loved him.
I recited this poem for my dad. Perhaps you will find a little comfort in these words …
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am diamond glints on snow
I am golden sun on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you wake in morning’s hush
I am that swift uplifting rush
A quiet bird in circled light
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there I did not die
Soar high Jim … you are free
Much Love, Nancy and Julie

The best words I can think of to describe Uncle Jimmy are jovial and kind. And I remember his great laugh, and I have wonderful memories of things like ripping up the lawn as we kids “golfed” on it, and watching hockey in the basement.
Our deepest condolences to Rose Marie, Janet, Shawna and their families, and to all those on the O’Grady side.
