Hi guys,
Sorry I can’t make it on Saturday. This weekend is my stagette that has been planned for the last year. I truly feel bad that I won’t be able to be there, but I know Jean would understand.
I was very close with Jean at different points in my life. From going to play with Rebecca to living at her house for a few months during my teens. I always loved how Jean was always a great listener. Offering advice when you needed it, and just listening when you needed an ear. I will miss her greatly, though I know she is in a better place.
Knowing how Jean liked a good time, I’m sure she will be smiling down on me Saturday night.
XO

to talk to. I had the honour of living with her for a few months.
and we did become very close to each other. She was the one that was always there to and lived with the times.
She will always be missed very much, but looking down now at us

Dear Thompson Cousins all
Loving thoughts are with you- we will always have so many fond memories of Jean to share. We won’t be at the memorial service except perhaps in a musical sense- Auntie Jean gave all our boys such great encouragement with their music! I know that Scotland held a very special place in her heart, too- just as she will in our hearts.
Much love

Dearest Rob and family,
It saddens me to hear of the Queen Bee’s passing. She was a great lady who touched many lives. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am unable to attend the memorial as it is my son’s baptism this weekend. I had actually hoped to send the Queen Bee a recent photo as she was always so happy to hear about children. May she now rest in peace and take her place as your guardian angel.
My sincerest condolences.

I was a teacher at ODSS and worked with Jean in the 1980’s. She was such a sweet and kind lady who was always willing to help and give direction. She mothered us all at ODSS and lead by example as she ran the “ship” with her diligent efficiency and no-nonsense, by-the-book tenacity. I loved her and will miss meeting up with her in town. My deepest condolences to the family.
Sue Hagan-Walley
I am so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. Without her I probably wouldn’t have made it through my first couple of years supply teaching at ODSS. She always used to call me “Susie’. I have many fond memories of her.

To the Thompson Fami:y (including Aunt Freda)
Mildred and I both share in the sorrow that you are experiencing at this sad time. All three of us were fellow students at ODSS in the 40’s; in fact, Jean sat across the aisle from me in Gr. 11 in the old school. Years later Jean and I were once again in ODSS where I taught 3 of her sons. The Senior Dodds and Thompson families were also well known to Mildred and me. Ours has been a long-time friendship and association.
Please accept our sincerest condolences in your great loss. We will miss you, Jean!

Donna and I were saddened by the passing of your mother, and are with you and the family at this hard time. Due to circumstancers we can not be present for the memorial service although we will both be there in spirit. I remember Jean’s kind support years back over a project I undertook.
Donna remembers the thoughtful letter she received from Jean after Ada Mae’s passing in which she expressed great wisdom and heartfelt compassion. She was a strong, kind woman with a lot of chutzpah and a gentle, warmth and will be long remembered.
You will be in our hearts during this sad time and we send warm hugs.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to your family. As a first year teacher at ODSS, Jean was without doubt a second Mom, always caring and put a smile on our faces everyday. Jean also took care of typing out all of our “dittos” and French final exams for us. I can still see her pulling out her trusty French dictionary, which she bought for herself, and beaming upon discovering an error that had been made. Initially she would type and then we would put the accents in, but eventually, she just decided to take over , and do them all for us! Such a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed.
