It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jean-Guy Roger (also known as John Roger) on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Loving dad of Mark (Janice) and Gaynor; treasured Grandpa of Rachel, Paul, Finnan and Leif; loved one of Monique; cherished friend of many; avid outdoorsman and adventurer; lover of travel and puzzles; skilled craftsman, hunter, fisher and gatherer (he loved his vegetable gardens).
John was always on the go from dawn to dusk, not wanting to remain idle for long. Always the provider, John was hard working, strong, generous, and had a helping hand for everyone. While he had little formal education, John was always up to the challenge if it involved building, creating, and repairing, and even moreso if that involved using up bits and pieces of wood, metal, piping or wires from previously finished projects.
He cherished each and every one of his friendships. Born the eldest of 7 siblings, in Montreal, Quebec, John left behind a web of siblings, nieces and nephews, and their families, who feel a tremendous loss.
We invite those whose lives John has touched, to a memorial gathering to celebrate his life at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday evening, May 9, 2024 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of John.
Letters of condolence, shared stories and photographs are welcome and may be sent to www.EganFuneralHome.com
