To the Reichen family;
My deepest condolence’s to my friend Peter, his strength through out these times of challenges and sorrow has been tremendous. Peter never gave up and stood right beside his wife day in and day out. Peter was the first one to come up with solutions and even when it seemed impossible Peter found ways to make everything better. My thoughts and prayers to the beautiful daughter Tanya, may she find peace in the days and months to come. To her son Ivo and wife Sharon many thoughts go out to you so that you also can find the strength and peace. And to the rest of the family, friends and neighbors my condolence’s.
Being Jeanine’s P.S.W since August I learned very quickly how strong and motivated Jeanine was and how the help of this united family made the impossible possible It has been my honor and pleasure to have met such a passionate person. Jeanine will be sadly missed and always remembered. I was blessed to have the chance to be part of this incredible family.
This family gave me hope that their are still some amazing and good hearted people out there, The Reichen Family.

This is devastating news. My heartfelt condolences to Peter, Ivo and Tanya.
In 2007 my partner Benny and I traveled from Vancouver to Toronto by train, one of my longtime wishes coming true. I was also excited to meet Jeanine and Peter, Jeanine being a sister of my sister-in-law Francine who’s married to my eldest brother Eddy. I had not seen Jeanine for decades as she moved away a second time and this time for good to Canada, and I moved less further North to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We both left our native country Belgium for a better and more exciting life.
Having arrived in Toronto, Benny and I ended up staying one night with Jeanine and Peter after spending two nights in a downtown hotel in Toronto. They took us for a ride to the Niagara Falls. Very impressing sightseeing tour. But I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and talking to Jeanine again after so many years. A bond had grown between us since we started emailing prior to my visit to Canada.
Jeanine kept me informed about her health condition. However her succumbing to the disease we all still fear so much still came as a surprise.
I have been brooding about another visit to Canada, this time the Eastern part with its old cities Quebec, Montreal and Ottawa. Of course I was already looking forward to seeing Jeanine and Peter again. And the regret of not organizing this trip sooner will now always be there in a life that shrinks socially as time goes by.
