LOUISE CALVERT-DALE
My deepest condolences to Ernie and your family. Your Dad will be remembered and missed. I didn’t know him well but have many pictures of him with the Sullivan clan and I think he was there at the farm when my parents and I came to visit Granny . Both Bob and Ernold came to our home in Oro-Medonte for a visit five years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.

Our Sympathies to Ernie, Danny and your extended families. We have fond childhood memories of visits to our farm in Caledon and then later at various family functions. His love for Ruth and you boys was evident, as well as his love for family in general, his aunts and uncles and cousins included. Ernald was a good man, and had a good sense of humour and he was a good story-teller. I remember he was pretty proud of his cars also.
Remembering him fondly,
Barb (nee Sullivan, cousin) and Steve Hancock

Dear Ernie, Rhonda, Danny and Bob
Ernald was very dear to me. He lived with us for the first five years of my life and although my cousin he was the brother I never had. I have fond memories of waiting for him to arrive home from high school on the bus, he and I listening to the lone Ranger on the radio (yes we are old) every night after dinner and of him taking care of me when I had the mumps. I always looked forward to his visits after he left home and went out to work. I especially remember his many cars and the first time he brought Ruth home to meet Granny and the family. We loved her and she was definitely the rock he needed in his life. Ruth and Ernald visited the farm frequently with Ernie and then Danny. Then life took us in different directions with their family demands, the farm being sold and my parents move to Toronto and mine and my sisters marriages. However, we did kept in touch at least a couple of times a year and the tie that we had remained. When we reconnected, it took us no time at all to pick up where we left off. He shared his interest in golf with my husband and they were always going to play but never quite made it.
Ernald as mentioned inherited the gift of Irish story telling. He had many adventures in his life and he could recall each one and the people in them in great detail. I loved to listen and to learn things about the family that I did not know (some of them I likely would have been better to remain unknown) Laterly we took a few trips together up to Albion to visit the church and our past relatives in the cemetery. We both had a great love for those Albion hills and our shared history.
Ernald lived life on his terms. He loved his home and wanted to stay there. With the support and dedication of Ernie, Rhonda and Tyler he was able to do that. He so appreciated their visits and all that they did for him and always praised them.
I will miss our telephone chats and just knowing that he was there a very important part of and connection to my roots. He is now with his beloved Ruth at peace and no longer struggling. I will miss him and I am so sorry that I was away and not able to say good- bye in person. Condolences and love to all his family from Bob and I

Sorry to hear about John’s passing. John and I met about 10 years ago through mutual friends. When we began chatting we learned what a small world it is. Back in the 60s John used to frequent Marshall’s Esso on Brown’s Line where my father was a mechanic. Then I found out he coached my cousin’s baseball team in Alderwood. We both shared a love of auto racing and Nascar in particular. I never tired of hearing stories of his adventures and antics, be it trips to Pinecrest Speedway or to visit his sister in Florida. He definitely had the gift of the gab. He was a great guy and I’ll miss him. I feel blessed to have met him.

My sincere condolences to the family and your loss. I loved my Uncle Ernald dearly and was glad to have had him as my God Father. He and and auncle Bob would drive to Florida and visit often while my mom was still alive. Lots of story telling and fond memories. May you rest in peace. You are now with Aunt Ruth, mom, DeeDee and Uncle Bill.

It was with sadness that I was unable to attend my cousin Ernald’s funeral. He was a cherished member of our family. I know that he lived with us when were younger and my sister Katie (Mary Kay)always thought of him as her older
Brother. They truly had a bond.
He loved our Mom and Dad and of course Grannie. So many fond memories at the farm. You could never take the country out of him.
I will never forget when he brought Ruth to
Meet us and we thought that she was so beautiful.
And she was both inside and out. She was the love of his life.
My sincere sympathies to Ernie, Danny and their families. Know that your father was loved.
I will go to the cemetery next week to pay my respects and have a visit. He will not be forgotten. Sincerely – Margaret Bonk (Sullivan)
