My heart is heavy hearing the news of John. My thoughts are with you all. I worked with John at Labatts in Toronto in the 90’s. I remember his positive energy to work and play at and at all times regardless of the situation or environment. He was a “pro” at work and a “good guy” out of the office. His laugh and smile were his lasting impression on me over the years. I was “schooled” by him on the ice many times playing for Labatt pick up teams but he was always humble of his skill level and approach. We have lost a good soul who’s star will shine bright over us all.

My sincerest and most heart felt sympathies to you Laura including all of John’s family and close friends. We had lost touch over recent years as life got in the way, however I remember fondly our high school and university years together, as they would not have been the same without him. Knowing the kind of person John was, he battled this horrible decease to the very end. my thoughts are wish you.

John always had my back in grade 5 when we played murder ball. Never wanted him on the other team.
Years have passed but still fond memories have knowing John.
Rest in peace sir.

I cannot come up with the words to describe the deep sense of loss I feel and how much of an impact you had on my life. All we went through, both personally and professionally made me a better person in every way.
Our nearly daily communication and get togethers will be terribly missed. Going through old texts and recalling conversations and experiences we had is difficult, but the memories I have will live forever. You will always have a piece of my heart.
Our Labatt careers were a great ride, but after Labatt, it went to even greater heights.
I know we were going to get that F-type Jaguar in the spring, but I am positive you are already driving it with golf clubs in the trunk with a big smile on your face.
Love you, brother.
Your best friend,
John Nunes

My sincere condolences to the Campbell family. John was great leader at York University. We have fond memories of his leadership as Captain of the York U hockey team leading York to a championship. He was a colleague at the C&B Pub and was liked by all. His humble style and easy going nature was admirable. I am sad to hear John has passed but he touched many people in a very positive way.

Just found out about John’s passing. John and I went to high school together but we first met each other playing for the same rep softball team in Willowdale. Great team mate, talented at any sport, and a lot of fun to be around. My sincere condolences to John’s family. May the good memories sustain you. Never gone, but always in your heart.

Just found out about the passing of John. We went to junior high, high school and university together. Also teammates on the Don Mills flyers 1977 Canadian midget hockey champions. Many a great times with John on and off the ice, including Sunday morning touch football games at Newtonbrook secondary school. My condolences to his family.
