Carolyn:
Louise & I were shocked to see this announcement on Facebook. It has been a long time since we met working at TUCO. We always enjoyed meeting with Joe at social events. Enjoyed seeing you at Bill Durkin’s reunion a few years ago. Please extend our condolences to your children and accept our very heartfelt personal regards.l

When I received the terrible news it was totally unbelievable. In the next few minutes it was very hard to comprehend reality. The feelings of loss and despair was completely overwhelming.
As I laid in bed nursing a burnt foot, reflections of the past started surfacing. I began thinking of Joe and his complete family. I realized that a better friend and friends could not have been possible. In this very hard time, Joe would encourage his loved ones to carry on, as he always made his friends very happy. He was very proud of his family and always looked for the happy and better side of life. All the good times and great memories will truly last a life time.
I wish that I could attend the funeral and be with you at this time. For the next few weeks I’m subject to home care and hospital visits. It’s very hard to extend my full sympathies of how I feel to the family.
When thinking back, some very good times arise. Warm times, fun times, and funny times surface. These memories and emotions help with a very low time. These memories and feelings will be treasured forever. Be strong.
Love Tom

I too share the same shock and loss of such a great person in this world. Joe and I had one of the most profound conversations of my life that helped me cope with the loss of my own father many years ago. There has always been a special place in my life for both him and those in his family that I have had the fortune of getting to know. It is to them and everyone else that I send my sincere thanks to Joe for a life well lived.

Dear Carolyn: It has been so, so many years since we worked together at Tuco in Orangeville…some 40 years by my latest count..and I STILL remember your flashing smile and wonderful giggle. I also remember how perfect I thought you and Joe were for each other and when you finally had your two wonderful girls, I rejoiced in spirit with you. Please know how much you, and he are loved by so many…and I hope that you gain strength from the support of your family and friends, and the wonderful memories that you shared. You are in my prayers. From Thunder Bay – Dawn
