Mike was one of my best friends in university. He was Kinnon to all of us, and I liked him and his name so much, I planned to name my first born son Kinnon. Of course my wife and I have three daughters, no sons. We’ll always have this Kinner: ‘criticism bounces off us’. To Jenn I wish peace and strength. It must be so hard. To the kids I am sad to have never met; your dad was one of my favourite guys, and I have been fortunate to know so many. Deepest condolences to the whole family. Long live McKay hall alumni. Wishing good health, peace, and love to all. Kendall Chorostecki

I was saddened to hear the news of Mike’s passing. I had the pleasure of spending many early mornings at the hockey rink with Mike and Ryan. Mike was always friendly and willing to help whenever he could. I have many fond memories of him helping on ice at practice and on the bench, opening a door and always encouraging the players. He was always on top of things and we had many great discussions about PEC and the cottage life. I will miss seeing his smile and friendly face and will never forget the impact his life had on so many others. Our sincere condolences to the entire Kinnon family.

Although I didn’t have the privilege of meeting Mike in person, I got to know him a little bit over the years from your stories (starting back before you got married) and social media posts.
