While as a newcomer to Canada in 1997, I was looking for a place to rent. Drawn by his friendly demeanour, I spoke to him, as I found him sitting under the proch. Instantly, he invited me in to show his house. I lived under the same roof at 44 Redwater Dr. Etobicoke for nine months. He was my guide, mentor and in fact, my window to Canadian life. He had a big heart, was ready to help and sincerely interested in my wellbeing. I will forever miss his annual visits on my birthday to deliver a card and a gift cheque in person. It is hard to meet a gentleman of his age with a sharp intellect, good memory, who walked upright even at his age. My heartfelt condolences to his son and the extended families!
