In her 97th year, Margaret Forbes, dearly beloved mother of Heather Hawkesworth (Tom) and Sandy Forbes (Peggy), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at home in Sandheath. Her many passions included first and foremost her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Frederick J. Forbes, parents Rev. W.C. Stubbs and Amelia Stubbs and younger brother George Stubbs.
Margaret grew up in Elmvale and attended Havergal College. Upon graduation she trained as a stenographer/secretary and worked at the Parke Davis Co., De Havilland Aircraft, C.C. Parker & Associates and lastly at the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company until her retirement.
Margaret was a kind, compassionate and generous human being to her friends and acquaintances. She extended those qualities to the various stray animals who would show up at the front door and who she often adopted.
Thank you to the Local Health Integration Network for their support for Margaret and to the nurses from Spectrum Health Care, especially Kathlyn and Kirandeep. A very special thank you to Marilyn for the comfort, care and compassion she showed Margaret.

So sorry to hear that Margaret has passed away. She was a wonderful friend to everyone at St. James in Caledon East and we will all miss her. She encouraged so many of us to join the Altar Guild and we especially remember trimming the church Christmas tree and being rewarded with her very delicious sausage rolls. Rest In Peace Margaret…we were very inspired by your independent and generous spirit.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
