March 13, 1933 – May 26, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Anne, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her mother, Bessie and her father Cecil, Anne is survived by her brother John (Maureen), nephew Don, niece Lesley (Paul) and great-nephews, Alex, Kevin and Connor. We are thankful to Bonita, Anne’s friend and confidante, and her Personal Care Workers, Sharon and Noemi.
Anne will forever be remembered as a woman who lived life on her own terms. It became clear at a young age that Anne was unique for her time. She was an independent, strong-willed woman with impeccable morals and values and a strong sense of loyalty and commitment that is rare to find today. While her friends and family were getting married and raising families, Anne was exploring the world and living life to its fullest. In 1953, Anne began her 35-year career with Toronto Hydro. Her entry level position quickly blossomed and by the time she retired, Anne had been promoted to executive secretary to the leadership team. Consistent with her character, Anne’s retirement was anything but quiet and settling. She gave new meaning to the term Carpe Diem and is fondly remembered for her selfless charitable work. Anne was a dedicated member of the Fairlawn United Church, as well as the African Violet Society. Although we mourn the passing of our beloved, we are comforted to know that she set the bar for living life to its fullest. Most of us hope to live a full life, Anne would say hers was a full life lived.
In accordance with Anne’s wishes, a private family only service will be held. An informal celebration of life will be held for Anne on Saturday, June 22nd from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Canterbury Place Retirement Residence, 1 Canterbury Place, North York, Ontario, M2N 0G7. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

You were one of a kind Anne. We shared lots of giggles on the 6th floor @ 14 & enjoyed a few cocktails out and about. Cheers!
