Peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Marie Gailitis, at the age of 90, beloved wife of Bill Gailitis. She was the loving mother of Bruce (Carolyn) and Edward (Shawna). A cherished grandmother of Luke, Allison, Caleb, Jennifer, Nathan (Hannah), Taryn, Owen, Jayden and dear sister of Lois Hatch.
Marie was born in the former Toronto Gore, now known as Brampton, and lived her life yards from where she was born. She had a lifelong passion for teaching children and was a licensed teacher for 50 years. Combining this with her love for Jesus she had many opportunities to share the gospel with children through her church and school. She taught John 3:16 to many of her students and lived a genuine life with her church family. She raised her family and exposed them to the truths of Christianity.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Tuesday, September 17th from 10 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 11 o’clock. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Compassion Canada. Please call 1-800-563-5437 to give a donation and specify that it is in memory of Marie Gailitis.

We were sorry to hear of Marie’s passing and send our condolences to you all
My sisters and I attended Coleraine Public School with Marie and Lois. Our one room school being all local students was a very friendly and happy group, always ready to help each other.
Our family used to visit the Brooks family on the farm, many years ago when we were young as my father was a distant relative to Mrs Brooks
May your family find strength in all your good memories
