Passed away Monday, 26 August 2013 close to his 86th birthday. Michael was a farmer’s son from Hampshire, England. He remained in farming throughout the early years of his marriage to Jean. Later, Michael learned carpentry in which he worked after migrating to Canada. Known for his lively sense of humour and his boundless energy, Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by Jean his wife of 64 years, sons Roger, Nigel and Simon, daughter Fiona, and his seven grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to join the family in a Celebration of Michael’s Life at Christ Church, Nancy Street, Bolton, 11am, Friday 6 September.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Lung Association.

Dearest Jean and family,
We just learned of Michael’s passing from Ruth. We were deeply saddened to receive the news but so thankful that we were able to see you both on our last trip home. We will, forever, be grateful for the warm friendship that both Michael and you showed Dad after Mum’s passing. What a wonderful, dear, sweet man he was and what a difference he made in the quality of Dad’s life for those last few years.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
