1962 – 2012
Passed away suddenly at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on Friday, July 6, 2012, Mike Winger, in his 51st year, loving husband and best friend of Susan Crisp. Devoted son of Shirley Winger, treasured brother of Rhonda and much loved brother-in-law of Terry Wiegard and cherished brother-in-law of Sonya and her husband Brad Popiel, Stephanie and her husband Nicholas Turley. Mike will be reunited with his beloved father, Wray Winger (1995), for some long overdue fishing, and his in-laws, Harper and Rosalie Crisp (1996 and 1999), who thought the world of Mike. Mike will be especially missed by his nephews and nieces, to all of whom he was so proud to be godfather: Brian Wiegard, Cole and Ezrie Popiel, McKenna and Delaney Turley. Mike will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful and devoted friends. Special thanks and deepest gratitude to the attending fire fighters from Palgrave and Bolton Fire Departments, the Caledon paramedics, OPP Sgt. Andrew Kinapen, OPP Constable Robert Bucsis and the nurses and doctors from Headwaters Health Care Centre for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at the Orange Hall, 22 Birch Avenue, Palgrave on Thursday afternoon, July 12 from one to 4 o’clock to share in fond remembrances. This has been a huge struggle for me to accept the passing of Mike. I cannot imagine how Susan, Shirley, Rhonda and all of the family must be feeling. My heart felt and sincere condolences go out to you all. I thank Mike for taking Jason and I to the race track when we were young and unable and the interest he took in us. We lost a great friend and the world has lost a great person. If only i could tell him that now. Best, Damon

We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s sudden passing, although it has been a few years since we saw him last we have many fond memories of him when we lived next door on Ellwood drive. Afternoons at the river and measuring who caught the biggest fish. He loved his dog onion, I could go on but I am sure you will have your own happy memories and hope that you find some comfort in them.
We would have visited but have just come home from the cottage.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
