As an extension of our Outreach Program, Egan Funeral Home holds annual Christmas Memorial Services in Bolton. We hope that each Christmas Memorial Service reminds the families who have suffered a loss, of the warmth of shared Christmases past, of the brightest of Christmases to come, and of the importance of fellowship and support. We encourage all our families to look toward the coming of Christmas and the New Year, with renewed hope, quiet gratitude and a peaceful heart. This service is an open invitation to families in the Bolton and Orangville areas plus the surrounding communities who have experienced the death of a loved one at some time during their lives. During the ceremony, families can light a candle in memory of their loved one for whom the service is dedicated. Each family receives a memorial candle to take home, which they can light during the Christmas season. We hope it is a gathering that helps those that attend to cope with their feelings at this time of year.
Our service for 2019 will be held on Sunday, December 1st at 2 o’clock in the Nashville Road Community Church.
Our 2017 Christmas Memorial Service Team
In 1997, the Egan Funeral Homes in partnership with the Caledon Department of Parks and Recreation created a Memorial Grove as part of the Caledon Trailways. This natural park, including wetland forest and upland forest, is planted as an educational grove with a stone marker, two stone benches, 20 – 40 specimen trees, educational signage and a pathway. These trees in this peaceful place stand and grow as a living memorial to those Egan Funeral Home has served.
The original capital amount donated will be followed by additional financial contributions in support of the maintenance of the grove and further developments of the trail.
