John and I are deeply saddened by this loss of a delightful man, friend, father, grandfather. Colyn has been a part of nearly my whole life and has always been respected for his creativity and determination to maintain quality throughout his years. His love for his family was his life. I know he will be greatly missed, but his spirit will remain forever. Our sincere condolences to his daughters, Gail and Kim, and to his son, Gary, and to all of the family. With love from Pat and John Bland, Kingston, ON.

I enjoyed the time I spent with Colyn very much. We solved a lot of the world’s problems during a hair cut and nail trim. He was a most interesting and funny man. I’ll remember him fondly.

It is with a great deal of saddness and emotion that I learned of the passing of my dear friend “Colin”! Over the past eight years we have spent some great quality time together and discussed everything under the sun. His knowledge was an inspiration to me and having accumulated it over some 90 odd years he had surpassed all that a University Doctorate could have given him. He was so kind, so gentle and his love, care, concern and attention to my granddaughter, Marissa, made her feel that he was a loving great grandfather to her. He always showed a genuine concern for my family and nothing could match the love he had for his own family.
Colin, I’m sorry I’m not home to be with you on your final journey, but today in Florida I will visit my church and light a candle and it’s brightness, like the Holy Spirit, will shone on you as you walk with the Lord through the Pearly gates of Heaven. God bless you and may your soul and the souls of all your faithfully departed family members rest in peace.
Your loyal friend,
Len

I knew Colyn for a short time of two years.
He was a wealth of information and history.
His storys of his youth always put a smile on my face.
He was always willing to try new things with great
enthusiasm. There are not many people like him
who truly cared for everyone he came in touch with.
Colyn my thoughts are with you and your family.
You were are a sweet wonderful man!
( Those darn fruit flys were pests hehe)

Colyn and I became great friends around 15 years ago following a happenstance Internet conversation about 1930’s vintage Hillman automobiles after he saw I had one and long ago did also. From that, we grew to become great friends and I came to really enjoy and appreciate our long friendship. We had many interesting conversations on a hundred different subjects and I always appreciated his bright, inquiring mind, broad base of knowledge and experience and his openness and caring spirit. My very sincere condolences to his entire family of which we spoke EVERY time we communicated. He loved, enjoyed and cared for all of you. God bless!
