Jeanette, Ryan and Chris,
I am so sorry for your loss!! Ryan and Chris, you both know how much your dad meant to all of us in Calgary! He will be sadly missed. I saw him at 5 o’clock the night he passed and I said to him what I always said to him “be gone with you”. That was something between Rick and I. I broke my right ankle almost 3 months ago and he drove me everywhere I needed to go if I didn’t have a ride. He was a special man with a special heart and smile. “Be gone with you Rick” We love you!! Carol

Jeanette,Ryan and Chris.
Still having troubles finding the right words to say. I have said many on his wall just like so many others that he loved and whose hearts Rick touched. And by reading all those posts boy did he touch many people in many different ways! I was not only proud to be his friend and to learn from him as he was a great and understanding teacher; but I will never forget other things either. i was so glad he wanted to see me when i went to visit another friend out in Calgary. And talking him on the Monday before he passed he couldn’t talk long as was busy and was told to call Wednesday or Thursday. I couldn’t Wednesday and…. I will so miss his caring nature, and his jokes we shared, even from afar. He was truly a rare gift sent to us. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts are with the whole family and all his friends. My heartfelt prayers go out to you at this time.

I remember Rick as a young child, when he lived across the road from us in Bolton for a couple of years. Sorry to hear this sad news as I have not heard anything about him since he moved away. Sorry for your loss…
Laurie Naughton
Our condolences to Rick’s family, especially his two boys whom he loved so much! I am grateful to have known Rick since I was a teenager, and reconnecting with him the past few years. The world will be a sadder place without such a good person in it. RIP..

Yvonne McCabe & McCabe family
It is with a sad and broken heart that I write our condolences to Rick’s family. I am so grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing and growing up with Rick.
Rick and his mom Evelyn were an extended part of the McCabe family. We grew up together, lived next door to each other until they moved to Rexdale. Over the years we still kept in touch, but when we grow up, we have our own lives and go our separate ways and don’t keep in touch as much… there is always time we think but it doesn’t turn out that way. Hug and tell those who touch your heart you love them… you don’t know when you won’t have that chance.
Rick you touched a lot of peoples lives, and we are all better people for having you in our lives. I will remember our younger years, the happiness in your eyes and your infectious laugh and the hair..don’t forget the hair.
I am positive Evelyn was waiting for Rick as the angels carried him to heaven. She will keep him safe until we all meet again. The world has lost a great person who I am proud to have called my friend. RIP Rick We will meet again

I knew Rick from our Rexdale days at the four corners.Rick was a real gentleman who was always a good time. I saw Rick last fall in Calgary and he hadn’t changed a bit, always a straight shooter no BS about him and still always the gentleman one of the few time hadn’t changed. He was always quick to laugh and up for a good time.
We talked a couple of weeks ago about his coming back east and hooking up, That’s life when you least expect it WHAM!!!! I guess the old cliché “the good ones go first and it certainly was true in Ricks case!!!!
You will be missed partner my heartfelt condolences to your family.
