So many great moments…my mom working at the store. Playing that crazy hockey game Rob had (never won a game I’m sure haha) at the house in the store. Many a fun moments at the New Years events with Davis, Tweddles……and there was Bob always thought he was so cool and calm no matter what crazy stuff we all got up to. He did so many things for Caledon East I cant recall them all, but I do know this we where a better town for it.
My very best wishes to you all.

It seems like only yesterday that we’d invade the Cannon home on a Saturday night to watch hockey (among other things). Bob and Shirley were always far more tolerant of the shenanigans than they needed to be.
The one thing that we remember the most is Bob’s Jack Russell Terrier. Bob would be doing the store books in his office at home, open the bottom desk drawer and the dog would hop in and sleep there until Bob got up from the desk. That memory is one of the reasons we now have a JRT (although he’s no where as well behaved as Bob’s).
Our thoughts are with all of you.

Loved reading all of the wonderful words expressed about my Uncle Bob! Some of you captured him so well.
I remember him as a kind, loving man who could always be seen with a smile. He was cheerful and had an almost carefreeness about him which probably helped him fight so hard. I will always think fondly of him and know how much he meant to his family and community.
Hard working, generous person who thought of the well being of others first. You will be missed, but what a legacy you have left behind.
Love to my entire family.

Our sincerest sympathies to Shirley and family. Bob will be very much missed by many.
I remember Bob’s friendliness and extra care about his customers when he ran the general store. We moved up here in 1967 and my mother Catherine shopped at Burrell’s from the very beginning. Quite often Bob would personally deliver our groceries to our house. At the time it amazed me that he could provided such wonderful service.
He was kind, always friendly, and a cornerstone of the community.

Dear Shirley and Family,
We first met Bob almost 30 years ago when we were newcomers to Caledon having just moved here from the United States. Didn’t know a soul in Caledon, but we were instantly made to feel a part of the community with our first steps into Burrells when Bob greeted us with that special smile and a welcoming hello. Such a good man – he will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences.

When Paul and I moved to Caledon almost 40 years ago, Bob and Shirley’s store was one of the first places where we felt so very welcome. When we met with difficulties, our family experienced the Cannons’ kindness, generosity and support. Always admired, never forgotten.
Sincere condolences, Maureen & (the late) Paul LaLonde
