Dear Regina, Natalie, Bryan and Andrew,
I was so sorry to read of Bob’s passing. It brought back many happy Macville memories – one in particular sticks out and that was his graciousness and generosity of hosting our class on a field trip to his work – there he was in his white lab coat sharing with Natalie’s classmates what a scientist can do. And of course the memories also of seeing him and Bryan doing the grocery shopping at Zehrs.
I am certain that a big hole will be left in your family. Prayers go to you at this difficult time as you begin you grief journey.
With prayers for healing and strength, and good memories,
Joyce MacKinnon

Dear Regina, Natalie, Bryan & Andrew
I was privileged to have been with Bob as a colleague and a friend for more than four decades. A self made man moving from a humble beginning as a laboratory technician to the prominent position of Technical Director of Givaudan Canada. He obtained his degrees of Chemistry and subsequently of engineering all of it in the evening, after his days of hard working. He was truly a hard working, diligent and perseverance professional.
He was a very intelligent and creative chemist/engineer; his expertise is well known throughout the flavor and food industry. He is well published and his seminars are well thought of in Canada, the Caribbean and the USA. He created many novel flavors and worked very closely with the food industry in developing food novelties.
Thinking back I can’t help getting Rudyard Kipling poem “IF” running in my mind. For he fits the description of the poet as in those verses:
“He kept his head when all about him are losing theirs; and yet he was never arrogant , nor talked too wise.
He dreamed but never made his dreams his master.
He met triumph and disaster and made those two imposters just the same.
Neither foes nor loving friends could hurt him.”
For he was a steady, loving human being always there for everyone to help. He never complained and never ever criticized anyone.
A man of true priorities, that he never lost sight of his top one, that of his beloved family. His love for Regina and the children were the very reason of his living. All his hard work and perseverance was truly dedicated to his family.
Dear Bob, we will miss you dearly.
Dave Killins

May God hold all of you in his loving arms in the coming weeks and months.
