Rosa Valentini, 86, passed away peacefully at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga.
She was born in 1937 in the town of Ridotti, Italy. Rosa was the loving daughter of Marietta (D) and Giovanni (D) and sister to Paolo (D). She moved to Canada in 1957 with her husband Giacomo, where she began her new life. Working and living in Toronto, Rosa made friends wherever she went. Time off was spent in her garden, looking after the rabbits, and visiting family. Sundays in the summer were spent with family on the beaches of Lake Ontario. Moving to Nobleton over 40 years ago, Rosa became a member of a smaller yet fulfilling community. Rosa joined the St. Mary’s Parish and the local bowling club. But Rosa will be remembered most for being the town’s Crossing Guard. She was loved by the children and the parents alike. Retirement brought more time to tend to her vegetable garden and fruit trees. Sleepovers at Zia Rosa and Uncle Chuckie’s are fondly remembered and still talked about. She is survived by her sister in laws (Agatha, Francis, and Rosa), loving nieces (Rosemarie, Michelle and Sabrina), nephews from Italy (Gerardo, Loretto, Giacomo (D), and Massimo, nephews from Canada Anthony, Angelo, Paul, Alfred and their families. A very special thank you to the remarkable staff at the CCU and ICU at Trillium Health Partners. Not only did they treat Rosa with care and compassion, they took time to help guide us through this heartbreaking journey. Rosa was a beautiful person, always smiling, and laughing. Our world will not be the same with her gone.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen St. S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Tuesday afternoon 2-4 and evening 5-8 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 190 Mactaggart Drive, Nobleton on Wednesday morning, January 24 at 11 o’clock. My deepest condolences to Rosa family. I meet Rosa as she lived next door to my sister Pauline. When I would go to Nobleton I always went to see her and have a beer with her. She was a wonderful lady always smiling. Glad I got to see her at Christmas this year. RIP Rosa.

So very sorry to find out about Rosa’s passing. Mom is so sad she didn’t know and didn’t get a chance to spend any time with her. Their friendship went back years, neighbours back in the 1950’s.
