It is with profound sadness Janine announces the peaceful passing of her cherished husband Ross. Devoted and loving father of Drew and Vanessa Pearcey, and Taylor Pearcey. Proud Papa of Walker and Little Rossco. Predeceased by his parents and his sister Carol. Ross was born on August 1, 1949. His love of hockey earned him a scholarship to Denver University where he forged lifelong friendships and happy memories. His proudest moments include being signed by the Detroit Red Wings in 1972 and working and playing with Labatt Breweries. Ross always had a smile, was hospitable and had a positive attitude until the end. His outgoing, friendly nature will be missed by so many cherished friends and family. Janine is so grateful to Rick, Les, Sue and Frank for their unwavering support throughout Ross’ illness.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Tuesday, October 19 from 3 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 4 o’clock.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Caledon Foundation Bethell House, P.O. Box 75, Inglewood L7C 3L6 or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Janine, I just found out from Verona today about Ross. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I met Ross quite a few times, and always thought highly of him. The one time that stands out in my mind was when my boyfriend at the time and I were having dinner at that restaurant on Queen St. in Bolton, the one on the east side going up the south hill…. I don’t remember what the name of it was but it’s a bridal gown place now. Anyway, it was pouring rain out, and my boyfriend and I went out to have a smoke, and Ross was out there too having a smoke, and my boyfriend said to Ross something like “geez, it’s really raining out eh?” and Ross said to him, “well it sure as hell ain’t birds shitting”. We all had a good laugh…. and also I remember all the times he visited at the sales office at Stoneridge. I am so sorry for your loss, and I will see you on Tuesday. Love, Chris Thompson

Hello Janine and Woodley clan,
Its been a long time, a much too long a time and…of course Roscoe’s passing is a difficult occasion to say “hello” again.
There are no words I have to express the sadness I feel or words that capture what a wonderful, kind, gentle journey Ross had.
I happen to be in TO on biz this week …only just heard the news from Dave Bryson (Labatt colleague) this morning. I hope to unhinge Tuesday’s biz plans…..and truly want to be in Bolton at 3pm.
If that doesn’t happen…please know I am thinking of you, your family and of course my dear, dear friend.
The world was a better place because of Ross Woodley…!!
Warmest regards
Chris Larsen

Janine, My sincerest condolences for the loss of Ross. We worked together for a very long time at Labatt and his easy nature, great humour and sincere presence was always welcome. I grew up in Rexdale and had a golden retreiver — conversation was never dull.
It was my honour to know him and I wish you and your family all the best.

Dear Janine and Family
I am saddened to hear of Ross’ passing. It was my pleasure to have known Ross and enjoyed our early morning chats, usually Thursdays or when I was running late and he was patiently waiting for his paper to arrive. The world has lost one of the truly good men. He always had a pat and a word for my co-pilots, a wave when our paths crossed on his early morning Timmies run and the generosity to buy a coffee for a tired paper carrier in line behind him at the drive thru. Taylor, Drew and families – I never knew your names (or didn’t retain them), your father was extremely proud of you, enough so to ‘brag’ to me about you and your families. His grandchildren made him exceptionaly proud!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
