My favourite memory of Ross Nelson: Fifty two years ago, when Ross was 13, and in Grade 9, he took me to the Spring Prom. On the bus, somewhere between Chippewa Hill and Elsinore, he slid into the seat beside me, and asked, “Will you go to the Prom with me?” So, on the appointed evening, Ross looking handsome in his best suit, his older sister Marion, and her boyfriend, John Eby, picked me up and drove us to the south entrance of Saugeen DHS. We wandered around for a while, then Ross joined in a game of cards with some of the guys in a upper classroom, and I stayed close to the punch bowl to try and ward off the chicken pox.
It was a memorable evening, and we talked, and laughed, about it, whenever we met, over the years.
We will miss not seeing Ross, every now and then! Our deepest sympathy to Mary and Family, and to all the Nelson Family. Marilyn (McIntosh) & Ron McComb

Dear Mary & the Nelson family,
We were extremely shocked to hear of the passing of Ross. We have many fond memories of Ross from when I was employed at Durham Furniture and he took a busload of employees to a Blue Jays game and then took everyone to the plant for a tour.
The day didn’t end there. He invited the whole busload back to his home for a barbeque and a funtime. He had a genuine heart of gold.
He also invited us to your cottage at Little Go Home Bay, taking us on a tour of the water and then letting us spend some vacation time there. These are memories of a generous family we will never forget.
Ross was a sincere business man who I dealt with over the years when I was employed at Durham Furniture and now at Bogdon & Gross Furniture. I always looked forward to his weekly visits to the plant.
May your memories help ease the pain as you face some difficilt days ahead but know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Rest in Peace Ross. You have left a mark on our lives.
Sincerely,
Garry & Linda Lantz
