Sarah was an old friend. I knew her since kindergarten. We also did guiding together for a little while. I remember a sleepover we had where we stayed up all night talking and watching TV. She was such a happy person so full of energy and life. It makes me so sad to think I may not see her for a long time. I’m so sorry for your loss and I give my deepest condolences.
Love from,
Sarah Hwozdyk

Susan, Paul, Jen & Evan…
You know how much we love you – and loved Sarah – our sweet God daughter. We have such wonderful memories from Saturday of Sarah out by the pond with Alley – she looked so happy and carefree. She was laughing and making that funny grunting sound, and even acted like an inchworm crawling across the family room floor – see kept us laughing. We know that God has welcomed a beautiful new angel into heaven, and that Uncle Freddie is holding her in his arms.
Susan, you have told me about the wonderful world of the afterlife. Now you need to hold on to what you know and let the signs tell you that she is with you.
We love you all. We will never forget her.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I will always remember Sarah’s gorgeous smile, her contagious laughter and her bubbly personality. I watched her grow from a baby when she use to come to drop off Jen and then Evan to kindergarten. She was so excited when she got to finally come to kindergarten. I’m sure she is in heaven now making all the angels smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this very difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I’m a priest who was the first witness by Sarah’s side that night and gave her last rites according to our (Roman Catholic) faith, and now pray for the entire family. We offered mass for her, and I will never forget her, nor her distraught mother and father, and brother, and promise her and them my prayers always. May the Lord give you strength during this darkest of moments in all your lives. Eternal rest grant unto her oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen +

Cliff e-mailed me the saddest news I could ever imagine hearing. My heart breaks for you all. I know there is nothing anyone can say that will make this any better, but please know that I am thinking of you all, and praying that you will somehow find peace with this in the future. I am sure there is a heaven up there somewhere, where little girls like Sarah are laughing, and chattering, and eating all the ice cream they could ever want, and she is there, waiting, and smiling down on her family who loved her so dearly.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the loss of your daughter and sister Sarah. We remember her with the fondest of memories: her smile lit up every classroom she walked into, her laugh was contagious, her enthusiasm unbridled, her spirit so full of verve and excitement. We all truly enjoyed having her as a student at Arnott Charlton Public School. Absolutely a delightful little girl!
Our deepest condolences to all of your family. Evan and Jennifer: we recall many fun-filled Arnott Charlton moments with you both as well.
Although we have all moved on to another school, Rowntree P.S., we still hold those memories dearly and think so highly of your family.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Sarah from Arnott Charlton, Kim’s sidekick, helping out how ever she could. She was always so happy and had a smile for every one. Later she and my daughter Courtenay were in the same Sparks and Brownie group. Back then she may have been “little Sarah” but she could run circles around all the rest. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family at this time.
Philip Hoeflich
Sarah was my cousin, my closest one too. She was two days older than me and we were Christened at the same time. I was on vacation when it happend and since I heard it, the rest of my vaction was a little ruined. R.I.P Sarah, I’ll see you again someday.

Dear Harding Family,
Our love and condolences are with you all during this unimaginable time. Our only comfort is knowing how wonderful the Harding family is and that you have each other for support, as well as the rest of the family, and so many others that are mourning the loss of Sarah.
We find it pretty incredible that a priest was the first witness at Sarah’s side. Definitely a comforting sign if there ever was one. It seems that her sweet soul was needed somewhere else, most likely shedding a light in a much needed dark corner.
Much love,
Kristina and Ryan

I am so so sorry…………my sister Rhonda Bell phoned me tonight,
she informed me of Dear sweet Sarah’s passing suddenly into Jesus’s arms…….
I just want you to know…. your family are all, in my thoughts and prayers always………
…….losing a child is so heart wrenching, I lost my son almost 6 years ago, but because of Jesus in my life I was more than able to get through those high waters and walls of fire……He will carry you and comfort you like you can only imagine, and Dear Sarah is so Joyful now at His Feet, she will be waiting for you all…….
I send you my love in Him Forever, and hugs too, hopefully one day we will meet…if not in this world …surely in our Heavenly Home…forever free from all pain and suffering…:)

Paul, I am another kCI grad, and saw the story on Global. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.
Carolin Hwozdyk
Dear Susan, Paul, Evan and Jennifer,
I am speechless. I fear I will never be able to bring forth what is in my heart without crumbling before you…so I must write instead.
The unspeakable has happened.
There are no words; there are no actions that can fill the void. I want to reach out and console the inconsolable but I am empty handed. There is nothing I can say or do to ease the pain except to say we carry it together. In a small way I will journey with you, but yours is the greater load.
Yet in the end, which is not really an end at all, we are not simply a body but a spirit, too. The body that was Sarah is no longer with us but her spirit lives on forever. And what a spirit that was.
Although I had not seen Sarah in a couple of years her person is indelibly etched in our family’s minds and hearts. From the 1st day of Kindergarten, when she greeted our Sarah H for the first time with a hug full of unbridled joy and enthusiasm, to moments where she would almost shout at the world to say “look at me”, her personality was huge. She shared with our daughter not only school grades but birthdays and Girl Guides and all the associated gatherings and camps. Even when she moved further away she would call our Sarah out of the blue after an extended time and start off as if no time had passed at all and invite her for a sleepover.
She lived life abundantly and joyfully. To many her life may seem to have been cut short, but the energy she gave to every day exceeded what most of us will expend in a long lifetime. I will always remember her for that and I am grateful.
I pray that God will surround you in a cocoon of love that will carry you through the difficult days that lie ahead. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Sue, Paul, Jennifer and Evan,
our families deepest sympathies go out to you in this time of need, we can still remember Sarah growing up in the old neighbourhood on Ashurst Cres. Jennifer and Evan would come by and ask for a swim, we of course said no problem and little Sarah would be close behind. She was always asking to walk the dog and who could refuse, but what we remeber the most was how outgoing she was at such a young age. She really brightened things up in our neighbourhood back then, now she is making heaven a little brighter.

There are so many memories we will keep close in our hearts of Sweet Sarah. We are proud and honoured to have known her from the very start of her life. Philip holds a special bond with Sarah as she was born 2 days before him. They also had their church dedication together. Fun, fun times together laughing it up at each other’s homes, Honey Harbour, Camp Kwasind.
As a Sea Cadet herself, Sarah encouraged Philip to join the Air Cadets. Her life touched so many in ways we can’t imagine.
Sarah is with you and with us forever and ever.

“Ah, how can we bear it?”
“Bear what?”
“This .For such a short time. How can we sleep this time away?”
“We can be quiet together, and pretend-since it is only the beginning—that we shall have all the time in world.”
“And everyday we shall have less. And then none.”
“Would you rather ,therefore, have had nothing at all?”
“No. This is where I have always been coming to.Since my time began. And when I go away from here, this will be the mid-point , to which everything will run. But now, my love, we are here, we are now, and those other times are running elsewhere

In reading some of the messages it’s impossible not to see the overwhelmingly constant theme;”Sarah was a happy free spirit”. She came by it naturally as from Paul’s earing to Susan’s headbands, her parents are anything but conformists. Over time may the smiles, jokes and laughter, come back to the Harding Family and serve as ever lasting memories of Sarah.
My thoughts and love are with you guys at this time and always.

Dear Hardings,
I just wanted to express my condolences once again. I enjoyed getting to know your family over the years and there are no words to express how sorry I was to hear about the loss of Sarah. She was a girl who was full of energy and always enjoyed every moment in life to the fullest. She is definitely someone who will never be forgotten and when I think of her I will always remember her bright and cheery smile.
My thoughts and prayer are with you all.

As one of whom I consider to be a friend in the Caledon Mens Baseball League, Paul, I wish to express my overwhelming sadness at this tragic event. As we never had the privilege of meeting Sarah, it is obvious she was only here for a short time, but had touched so many. Paul, Susan and family, please accept our sincere condolences. R.I.P Sarah

Dear Harding Family
May our God give your family His peace and surround all of you with His loving arms as you go through this very difficult loss of a very precious young daughter/grand daughter. She was very special to everyone and was a shining light to everyone she met. Rest assured she will be with our loving God now and we all have a hope that we will see her again.
“For God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall have Eternal Life.”
John 3:16
May you be comforted at this time with all your surrounding family and friends and from a God who truly cares about each and every one of us.

Sarah was always the happiest one in the class. If she wasn’t smiling she was laughing, and if she wasn’t laughing she was smiling. I will miss seeing her smiling face in class everyday. I know she is always with us and may she rest in peace.

So much has been said about this energitic and wonderful young lady, and yet there seems to be so much more that can be said. I met Sarah at such a young age when she began her Guiding Career along with many other girls. Her smile and energy was infectious. I was one of her Guiding leaders along the way and looked forward to seeing the huge smile and bright eyes that always came with her. I watched her grow over the years into an amazing young lady. Even after she left our area and proceeded into the Cadet program we would get updates from other girls within the unit on how she was doing. There are so many memories of group meetings, sleep overs and camps that will always remain in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you Susan and Paul, Jennifer and Evan, and all the rest of your family. Take comfort in the fact that although her life was cut short she touched so many lives in such a positive manner.
Sarah you will be missed by so many……….

Paul, Sue, Evan and Jennifer,
It was with unbelievable sadness that we received the news of Sarah’s passing. As parents, we cannot imagine your sense of loss and heartache. It is with special sweet memory that we recall her days on Ashurst Crescent, she held a special place in all our hearts. Even as a toddler, her free spirit shone through. Her smiling face and cheery disposition will always be what we remember. Rest in peace Sarah.
We will make a donation, in her memory , to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Deepest condolences to you all and to your extended families.
